Realistically you hugely undermine the squad if Egan gets stripped of it, unless you've decided to move him on.

He should however be reminded that getting injured, fucking off to Ireland anyway, coming back injured, missing a key game, returning for the.worst home defeat in our history falls well short of what is expected of Club and Team Captain.

If he is unable to lead us out of this disappointing spell then you'd expect him to have lost his place because his own play doesn't merit a start, in which case, when fit it would have to be Baldock followed by McBurnie.

I do hope we can avoid throwing the baby out with the bathwater in some knee jerk reaction to a torrid week.

If we didn't excel at things we are well drilled on I have less confident that radical changes will bring better fortune.

If you strip Egan of the captaincy there’s no way he will sign a new deal and he effectively is gone for free.

He’s been made captain and he’s Heckys Captain. Got to stick with it.

Huge McBurnie fan, but he has let us down in the past.
Furious has every single attribute. The players and fans love him and he must be a dream to manage. An absolute winner.

I think way too much emphasis is put on captaincy, and it's probably misplaced in the modern game. Egan wearing an armband doesn't mitigate the role that other players have in galvanising the dressing room.

That said, I think stripping someone of being club captain because they've been in (admittedly very) poor form for a handful of games is not the sort of precedent we want to be setting.

It doesn't look good an I hope hes fit and fine asap. That said, strangely enough it might force PH hand in changing the back line as he seems to have a hard on for Egan and he's been struggling. Sometimes positives can come out of adversity.
