As we sold Che Adams to Birmingham for over £1million but got Clayton Donaldson, one of the players Che replaced in their team, and then bought Donaldo for ourselves for a reputed £50,000, who do you think did best?

Che does possibly have a longer term advantage but from what I have heard, he has issues with self discipline and that does not exactly help his future in terms of physical fitness & bad influences on other players, team togetherness etc.

I do not wish Che any harm or bad luck, I just have concerns for his future if what I have heard is true, whereas Clayton seems to be a real professional.

Obviously Che has time on his side and I was sorry to see him go. If a player has 'discipline problems', it's a failure on the managers' part not to sort him out. Don't think Man. U. had many disciplinary problems under Sralex, and if he did the player was gone.

Adams seems to have sorted himself out physically now. But fuck him. Give me Donaldson over him all day long. He has a much better attitude and is more suitable for our team. He'll probably score more goals than Adams this season too.

Ravel Morrison the best 16 year old Fergie has seen apparently. His attitude has well and truly screwed his career up. He was held in a higher regard than Pogba at the time.

One is now the 2nd most expensive player ever, the other is now playing in Mexico. I read somewhere that he has completed 160 minutes in 3 years.

Quite obviously Birmingham did.

They recently rejected a 5 million pound bid for him and he was instrumental in keeping them up last season.

That said I'm not fussed adams went - said before wilder didn't seem to fussed about keeping him and his sale probably funded our promotion campaign.

But it's nonsense to argue he's not a good player even though Donaldson looked to fit the criteria for what we are after

Harry and Birmingham have just given him a longer contract, so he can't be all that bad. Still prefer the Don.

Good asset management. They only signed him a year ago but that's no reason not to get him on new, longer contract.

We really need to take a leaf out of their book with O'Connell, Fleck and Brooks. It should be a basic policy to look to extend contracts of key assets when they get into the last 2 years of their deal.

Totally agree.

Take emotion out of it, and one has an asset that has increased in value and has many years ahead. The other has an asset with has maybe one or two years left.

Commercially they have the better deal.

On a footballing and emotional level I'd rather have Donaldo...

In Tufty we Trust!

Birmingham turned down £10 million for Che on deadline day from Derby. He might be a wanker, but he's improving as a player. Thankfully we have a sell on clause so we are covered. At the present time, I'd have the Don though, just what we needed (especially away from home). Based on values though, Brum got the better deal.

Most vile scumbag ever to pass through the clubs doors. I wish him nothing but pain, misery and suffering.

And no, being at Birmingham isn't punishment enough.

I was in Birmingham at the weekend, watching the grandson play football. Got taking to a parent, who turned out to be an apparently sensible Blues fan. He is not 'appy with 'Arry, not 'appy with many of their signings, not 'appy with them letting Donaldson go (he has now scored almost as many goals for us this season as the whole team has managed for Brum), but he is very 'appy that they have Adams. Reckons that he is the only bright light for them at the moment. For what it's worth, I always though Adams was a talent, but that it was difficult to find the best position for him. He is not a striker or a winger or a mid-fielder, but is perhaps finding his role playing just behind the striker(s).

Atkins must have been in the same mold as Ferguson then as he suspended Adams more than once for indiscipline (allegedly). After hearing from some "observer" what he got up to, I would have got rid of him at the first opportunity too. He might be valued at £10 millions at the transfer window but that could soon be zero if he was to repeat his old antics

The other part of the discussion is who suits the current team ethos and play better under Chris?

Considering who plucked him from obscurity, his tweets against our club were utterly disgraceful.

I hope Fleck snaps him in half.

Try 10 million:

Concidentally I was wondering whatever happened to him the other day. A quick wiki search suggests that the lad is, in fact, a proper full-weight (always a give away when the wiki heading is 'Personal Life: Legal History').

Derby say they offered £3m and were told he wasn't for sale so dropped it.

Redknapp didn't name a team as far as I know.

Off of the top of my head I believe he has been charged with assault and witness intimidation (related to the same case I believe).

When he was on loan from West Ham to QPR he did quite well but since then he has done nothing. I believe shortly after this loan period was when the assault occurred I believe.

He did nothing at Lazio or QPR last year. I believe he is still only 24/25 so plenty of time to turn it around but at the moment he doesn't deserve anything from the game.

Good deal for us - we used the money to get players in who helped us to go up (thought we should've got more but it's still good from that perspective)

Good deal for Brum. Adams saved them from relegation, and hid value has gone up.

Good deal for Adams so far. He earns more than he would with us.

Win-win-win at present.

Che Adams had an attitude problem - he quite simply wouldn't have fitted in with the Wilder way of doing things. He's moved on and we got some decent money for him.

Donaldson has moved in, but it's too early to say.

UTB

Adams is the perfect January panic buy for someone looking to have a punt on keeping their Premiership status.

If Harry doesn't turn them around, 10m in Jan to fund team changes might seem tempting. Could well fund our own recruitment, him and Jamie Murphy!

Adams strikes me as able to be a scorer of great goals rather than a great goalscorer.

If fit, Donaldson is just what we need right now.

Donaldsons debut was verygood, his two goals were brilliant but its a bit early to say regarding who has the better deal, if his current injury turns out to be a problem in the longer term then people will start giving it the old journeyman crock when will we ever learn, youths the abswer.

I suspect that none of us on here really know what Adams' character is but we all suspect that he is flawed in one way or another. He did score some good goals for us but then on many occasions looked useless - particularly when playing wide midfield and never seemed to be able to beat a man. As we now know CW has 15 boxes to tick when assessing a player and I suspect Che would not get many ticks when it came to work ethics, personal behaviour etc. so don't think he would have been here long even if Brum had not bought him. Good luck to the lad but good riddance from me. Much rather have the Don. Seems to be the perfect role model for young Brooks. If Che is worth £10 mill (which I don't believe) then Brooks must be worth £15 at least!

Had a lift from a taxi driver the other day who was a fanatical brummie fan. According to him Che is the best thing since sliced bread. I said he had good games for us but wasn't consistent and didn't try too hard at times. Apparently for brum he works hard for 90 plus minutes and has improved his technique and consistency. Judging by offers for him in the window a few managers agree. End of the day he's in our past not our future. Good luck to the lad... except of course if he plays us.

Would have been interesting if wilder had inherited him, makes you wonder
