Wilder has referenced on a number of occasions now the need to reduce the squad size, I think there could be a sizeable turnover in loan players as clearly some aren’t up to the standard required, so, who’s off in January?

1: Cannon - whether loan or permanent i think he has to go after last night, for his own good more than anything.

2: Barry- unfortunately not up to championship level, yet. Seems a bit of a one trick pony, doesn’t work back or generally work enough. Probably suits a team dominant on the ball.

3: Bindon - as above, don’t think he’s ready for the step up to championship football. Would be interesting to see him in this wilder system however. Wish him all the best but I think he’ll be back at forest as soon as the window opens.

4: Godfrey - personal issues or not (really hope the lad’s ok) he’s on a massive wage and needs to be sent back, showed very little so far, replace.

5:matos (loan) - assuming players are brought in I think he’ll be sent out on loan, as someone mentioned yesterday it speaks volumes for matos that Shackleton returns from injury and is preferred immediately.

6: zatterstrom (loan) - think wilder actually half rates him, but needs game time - having the same issue he had at malmo

7: ukaki (loan) - needs to learn and adapt to English football, not willing to give up on him yet, did look relatively bright pre-season.

8: marsh (loan) - needs proper game time now, speaks volumes regards the players listed above and this seasons recruitment, but 21’s must become an impediment at some point.

9: oné (loan) - he either needs to be very much in around the 11 or out on loan. Think it’s pretty much the consensus he’s not ready but he has to be ahead of some of the other options

If you're going to be sending Cannon out on loan or flogging him, then I wouldn't send One out as well.

I think all those suggested in the OP are likely, perhaps with the exception of Mattos. The club have spent a lot of money on him and while we have a lot of central midfielders, several of them are injury risks....I think he will get more game time between now and Jan, which will determine things. As it stands, I imagine Wilder will want to bring in a couple of strikers, so that could mean Cannon making way....but he will also by necessity or misfortune be getting game time between now and Jan

Bettis said loans most likely to be our incoming so it's not hard to imagine some of our loans in being cancelled.

It's quite clear others like Matos and a few others aren't going to feature much

Surely we picked Matos up on a free

Some big decisions to be made, some of which are more obvious than others.

Barry, Bindon: Obvious that both don't fit into this new system/style, shame but it'll be better for us and them if we let them go.

Godfrey: A lot of money to be paying a player who isn't playing, surely that money can be better spent elsewhere, sending Godfrey + Bindon back and getting 1 better CB instead.

Marsh, Oné, Zätterström, Ukaki: Should be loans for all 4, hopefully into L1, maybe a L2 loan for Nwachukwu as well if we feel he's ready for a short loan.

Matos: I know we've spent money on him and he is still young, but with the depth we have in midfield, maybe a half season loan wouldn't be such a bad idea, just to see if he can get some confidence/run of games before coming back for next season.

If we can get cannon and matos either out on loan, or even better sold/part exchange for 2 new corner flags. Take it.

Agree with the rest. Unless we send Bindon and Godfrey back and give zatterstrom more chances, same with one.

Cannon SHOULD go. Either on loan or sold. But he's a Wilder purchase so maybe he'll not go.
Barry should be returned. He's not ready at this level yet.
If Bindon goes who is backup? Would need a replacement at least for cover if he goes.

A player misses a game or two and that’s it he’s done for. Matos will feature for us.

He’s also 21 years old with good pedigree. He’ll improve as hopefully will his confidence.

Imagine coming into the group he did as a 21 year old trying to find his way in the game.
