Also genuinely, did you watch the Burnley cup game? Bogle, Lowe and Ampadu all look capable of improving our starting XI at the moment.

As for best window ever, we've signed a well regarded goalkeeper on a permanent, two quality wingbacks, got a elite loan in from Chelsea and got rid of some deadwood, it's a pretty good window.

The only windows I can say are better recently are the one where we got Egan, Henderson and Norwood and when we signed Berge.

We needed strikers we’ve signed 0 strikers and have lost a striker through injury

They are good signings but they don’t improve our starting eleven

Wilder rarely changes the starting 11 I can’t see any of them starting anytime soon
 



There is no doubt that the goals have been flying in during the first couple of rounds of games. A number of commentators have suggested that this could be down to the absence of crowds resulting in many players playing with considerably greater freedom than has previously been the case. Unfortunately that doesn't apply to us.

Up until the lockdown in March, we were a team that was on the front foot every week and playing every fixture (save for Liverpool away) without fear. The concern must be that in the 13 matches we've played since the restart in June, we have not been that same front-foot team.

Obviously, the loss of JOC on the eve of the first game v Villa completely destabilised us - particularly as we typically seize control of games in the first half with the work that we do down the left flank - but we have, in the following dozen games, only fleetingly looked anything like the team we were up to March.

I saw a lot of the Leicester v Burnley game this evening, and the touch, movement, speed and sharpness on display was noticeably light years away from where we have been since June. We were producing just that sort of football ourselves, however, up until March.

Hopefully we can rediscover our mojo quickly because at the moment, the thought of the season turning into a high-scoring shootout is a nightmare prospect for us when you consider the considerably superior firepower available to the vast majority of other teams in the division.
 
Whatever happened to the Prague doesn't start to take shape until 10 games in?

Bournemouth started season well last season and look what happened to them. They were right up the table after a couple of months

You have absolutely no idea how the season may pan out after one game what on Earth are you talking about? Southampton last year where awful got beat in one of the worst ever premier league performances yet stayed up comfortably. We may well struggle this year and in my opinion we probably will I would be happy with 4th from bottom but reding shit like this for the past week is embarrassing! Man up wet pants the manager of our club deserves our trust he’s earned it!
 
Remember Wilders first three games anyone! Suggest people calm down and let the man do his work, he hasn't let us down yet.

It does make me laugh that even after the last 3 years certain posters can't wait to knock the club for any reason . I have watched 40 years the majority of which was very average. Being in the top flight seemed impossible 4 years ago, Wilder isn't going to casually throw that away. People need to have more faith, some of the posts on here are embarrassing.

So your agreeing with me then you just we will struggle also ?

I’ve not said anything about wilder ? We sign some quality forwards we will stay up comfortably

Leeds- Look like they will do well

Rest of the league have got way way better teams like spurs/everton/arsenal will be much better this year

Massive couple of weeks if we don’t sign Brewster + another creative forward/midfielder it’s gonna be a long season

If our team have the same level of belief or confidence as a lot of posters on here then we are doomed. Some of the them must secretly believe last season was a fluke. We have got some good hungry young players in and the basically the same defence as last year. We have lost one young England goalie and replaced him with another. I see no reason why we are suddenly going to leak goals like some teams are doing. Some of the defending has been very poor. Scoring will be an issue again but let's give the team the benfit of the doubt for heaven's sake.

After 2 games last season, Arsenal were 2nd, Bournemouth were 7th and Norwich were 4 places above Chelsea.

Another panic thread after one game.

For what it's worth. I think the PL this season will be a bit like the championship. Everybody will beat everybody.

We got sucker punched early in the game against Wolves and free away to a strong Burnley team with largely or second string out

There’s half the league who potentially are worse than us. There’s no evidence yet that any of those sides will be above us.
If after the window closes in mid October we are in the bottom four or five then it will be realistic to suggest we are going to struggle.

Man U also lost their first game of the season but they did it to a team who finished below them last season so we are deffo finishing above Man U
 
So after 1 game we are going down but last year we was going for the to 6 FFS lets at least play 10 game then put this up
 
Burnley, West Ham, Villa, Leeds, Newcastle, Fulham, West Brom are the main competitors I think. Palace, Brighton and Everton all look much improved.

Next 4 games are huge for us, especially when we then have a straight run of Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea after!
