I used to stand right up to them on the Kop and my dad was further back ( I can't believe he did that ! lol ) I was about 10 yards from where all the railings collapsed , I think it was a cup match and it was packed !! they continued the match with ambulances coming on the cricket pitch ..... can you imagine it !! .. Talk about different days haha... I wasn't fazed at all and watched the match , I can't remember if dad came and got me? but I DO remember my mum going ape shit when we got home ! as it had been on the news . We hard ( daft ) in them days..

Not just the railings but a large chunk of the concrete wall that supported them .

You would be at the front because young kids were encouraged to go there by the older blokes , and most did .

I never fancied it and always stood about half way up to the left of the goal when looking from the pitch . The incident that day confirmed I'd made the right decision .

1960 played pigs at the lane in FA cup 6th round unfortunately we lost 2 nil.
Had my picture in the morning telegraph with a group of other young blades with long faces having just lost, we were up against those railings.
Also was another picture of young pig fans
Smiling as they had just won.
Wilkinson scored there goals and Springett had a blinder in goal for them, we didnt deserve to lose .

I remember saying at the time that if they'd had any other goalie on that day , we could easily have been 4-0 up after 20 minutes .

We absolutely battered them with some fantastic play yet finished up losing . Gut wrenching .

Chewing paint, sniffing glue, LSD and snorting coke off a whores arse. Kids back then just like kids today!

I've never seen naked whores in the Kop bogs!
