Whisper it, but Mcburnie played well!

Against these bottom half teams he can be a solid 6/10 option for at least 8-10 minutes

Not long before she carked it, my 89 year old nannan - weakened by terminal illness and gradually losing her faculties due to being in the throes of dementia, would nonetheless have some 'good days' where she got out of the bath unassisted, or managed to feed herself successfully for the most part. "Well done, that's great!", we would all tell her.

McBurnie is now in the octogenarian-dying-nannan phase of his United tenure....

That shot 😍 brewster on the other hand was poo
No idea why neither McBurnie nor McGoldrick can strike a ball with any power. Of the chances he had, you'd expect him to score one of them. Looks far better though.

Brewster seems a little more like the 'poor kid's Brewster from the earlier pommpey reports when he first arrived.

Hopefully something falls for him to give him confidence. He was pretty ineffectual though and his shooting is wild at times.

Credit where credit is due, for the short time he was on he was like a man possessed, someone who knows he's got something to prove and prove he almost did!
What we need to see now is consistency......
and goals!

He's still a long way off his billing, but last night was a major step in the right direction.

He did pretty well. There was one good shot that he was unlucky not to score from, some decent layoffs, and an intelligent booking. There was also the shot we've seen so often where it stuck in his feet a bit and when it came out there was no power. He earned his money.

Mind you, this will all be meaningless to some of his supporters, who tell me we can only judge him on a run of full games....

I mean... it was a 10 minute performance I'd relax a little tbh.

Still don't think he is right for us, needs to move on in January.
I’m desperate for it to work for him, but I don’t particularly rate him too highly.

You say move on in January, but where on earth would he go? He’ll be on a big wage which a club would have to cover. He’ll be with us until his contract expires or we renew

He looked up for it last night and that's all we want really. Solid 6/10 performance considering he was on the pitch for only 20 mins. I want McBurnie in our long term plans!

Got to admit, weren't happy when he came on, but credit where credit's due, he played his part

Shame he didn't nick a goal, as then I can stop calling him Ollie 'no goals' McBurnie

Looks like he's put weight on, which is a good thing. Looked ill last season and weak (obviously caused by his illnesses).
He'll still have the usual suspects on here waiting in the wings waiting for a fuckup, but hopefully tonight was a step in the right direction for Oli. Really needs one to go in off of his arse on Saturday, get some confidence back in him.

He mentioned that in the pre match , said he has put on loads of weight with JOC in the Gym

Mcburnie starts, an opportunity for him to find some form.

I've slagged him off like a dog of late but let me be the first to say that he was MOTM for me today. He caused them some real problems and just needed a bit of luck to get his goal. I expect nothing less of him going forward but if he puts a shift in when he plays, like he has done today, he'll get a bag full of goals. Well done today OMB!

But we have better strikers than him. One has bagged three this year, one who is looking sharp and one who is frikin whippet. Sorry, but Mcb is slow and has little ability to take that extra split second and fool any defenders or goal keeper to create a goal. All his shots today were directly at a defender or goalie. Sorry again, we have better than just his aerial threat. He did play well. Granted.

Not everyone will be pleased but a good few minutes from Mcburnie and almost scored but for a great low save from the keeper. Whilst ever he is a Blades player I will be wishing him well!
Every proper blade should be pleased, I've been far from his biggest fan, but I'd like nothing more than him to be the player we know he can be

Again he was denied by some great saves. No complaints with his performance today.

You can tell how desperate he is for a goal and its clearly impacting his composure. If he'd scored 10 last season and had a couple in the bag already this season, he'd have had a hat-trick today. The goals will come.

You seem to be comparing him to Ndiaye? Which seems odd, since they’re essentially playing a different game.

When he’s only a foot away from the keeper there is very little room to put it either side of him , the keeper did well getting on top of him like that

He's a striker, his entire reason or being on the pitch is to put the ball into the back of the net.

Today he once again had a glorious chance and fluffed it, when he shoots it's like a 10 year old having a pop.

Like flogging a dead horse.

When we get a game that's tight we need our strikers to score that one opportunity, something mcburnie lacks more than any other.

He's had enough chances.

He was clearly gutted in the second half after not scoring a decent chance, a few players were giving him a pat on the back and obviously telling him to keep his chin up. Liked his performance today and his effort was plain to see, we’ll done oli lad.

It’s easy to say he’s hitting the keeper or the defender, or lacking composure…but he’s been out for so long and feeling so much pressure he’s just concentrating on hitting the target.
If he hits form it’s then that he will start putting them away…it’s all about confidence. Simple as that.
He’s simply thinking…head down, cleans strike, hit the target . And repeat til he gets one or two and hits some form. Then when those basics come naturally he can then look to finish them!!

He’s gonna need time ffs

Not MOTM for me but played well. Not 100% match fit yet but if he can get fit and stay fit the signs are promising.

mcburnie has his best game for a long time. i would be asking for him to start on v Luton. playing like that & its great mcburnie kept getting in those positions. today

but you have to bury them. as some of the sitters he missed. they were harder to miss
