Which players do you want to see come to the lane?

O'Connor was a flop at Derby. Doubt that Nigel would consider him again.

Ideally keep the current loanee's and maybe add -

Wilson - Currently Hearts was a very good promising Centre half, so much so Liverpool paid a decent price for him. Got lots to prove after losing his feet and should be very tempted now Hearts are relegated and never pay there players!
O'Connor - Out of contract at Derby plays anywhere across the back 4.
Aneke - On loan at Crewe. Tore us to bits this season by himself. Very good combative powerful midfielder.
Delfouneso - currently on loan at Covenrty. Plenty of ability in his younger years gone off the boil recently and got lots to prove could be a real gem.
Wilson - Coventry player who as proved himself at this level this season. Very quick, young and hungry player. Might be a sizable fee but with coventry finances who knows.
Phillips - Still at Leicester, can't see him getting a game in the premeirship next season, might fancy another year in the game and could do a job for us at this level.

And my last pick is gonna be very controversial but another name into the mix-
Jermaine Johnson - Out of contract at the pigs and going to be released by all accounts. Can be a game changer at times and other times a waste of space. Only throwing his name into the mix because i feel we need another wide player to keep Flynn and Murphy on there toes. Might be worth a years deal.

Aneke most definately
Johnson (are you for real) total waste of space, Callum Wilson will go to the Championship, Phillips past it we dont want to waste a wage (and it will be a big one) on a bench warmer at most, Delfoneso probably not good enough and would be a gamble

Why would we sign an ex pig who is in your own words 'a waste of space'.

Congratulations, you've won post of the century.

I have just noticed why you are named grumpy. I was just throwing some names out there after all this is a forum where folk are entitled to have a say. Johnson as also been a noticeable game changer on occasions for the pigs. But thats just it occasions. i do feel we need cover/competition to murphy and flynn.

Who would you like or think are realistic targets Grumpy for the record?

Wrote about him earlie this week, but Andre Gray at Luton could be a good buy. Quick, strong, eye for goal and perhaps a late developer of the same ilk as Jamie Vardy that we'd be able to get well under £1m.

Sorry to disappoint but I'm not going to say as we have a guy in position who will do a much better job of it than all us ChampManager players.

I give you Nigel Clough.

Its a difficult one because i am not sure on NC's budget. Players with transfer fees may actually be possible for once. Either way i'd like to see.

WILSON from cov can score in this league and i think he's hungry to succeed.

BRAYFORD his performances speak for themselves

COADY same as brayford

EVANS think he deserves a chance and wouldn't cost us to bring him in

FREEMAN Stevenage lad i rate him and he will surely be on his way out of there

I'd prefer to stay away from loan unless it was for a full season with a player with experience at this level so ANEKE would be ok as well.

A bit of a long shot would be ANDY REID forest set for a clear out with new gaffer coming in, be a great signing.

Darius Henderson might struggle to get a look in at Forest next season.

Could be an excellent aquisition

I fully believe if we'd kept hold of him we'd have been promoted at the first attempt. Our recent record of resigning strikers has been abysmal, however.

Stevie May from St Johnstone is a prolific goalscorer! He's scoring for fun in the SPL and is very highly rated. At 21 years old, he may be lured away from Perth like Scougall was from Livingston. St Johnstone's average home attendance is little over 3,000 and it should be affordable to make a reasonable bid. He's been linked with Peterborough in January and would definitely be a fantastic signing.

Freeman is one i want at the lane aswell, hes a very good talent at this level and he has attributes to be good at a higher level, plus he would give very good competition for wingers and we would get him for next to nothing, think we would have to give a nominal fee for his age thats all

Notts county Sheehan, Crewe Aneke, Don't want any big time Charlie's, all new signing must fit in with the spirit of the squad.

My opinion is we need at least two strikers for August. I'd like to see a proven goalscorer in THIS division (or higher) and then a riskier younger striker as well. Regardless of whether we're signing Evans or not, we need them in for opening day for me backed up by Miller and Porter. Andre Gray at Luton seems a good shout to me but I liked the look of Oldham's striker with the double barrelled surname that escapes me right now. for the proven scorer, Sharp would be nice if possible but Baldock and Mcdonald as well.

Elsewhere, a CB and a tough, strong CM would be nice. Diaragou at Brentford and Wilson at Hearts are realistic IMO. Keep Coady and Brayford too, Freeman too.

Wilson
Diaragou
Oldham striker
Baldock
Coady
Brayford
Freeman

Maybe a loan winger?

Try and sign the following:

Coady
Brayford
Aneke
Sharp
Sheehan
Judge
Davies
K Freeman

Get rid of these:

Brandy
Westlake
Ironside
Hill
Porter
Paynter
McGinty
Taylor

I'm not sure who I would want, there are plenty of players that could do a job for us and plenty have had good games against us this season, but realistically we just need some strikers so you could just go down the top scorer list a pick a couple that interest you.
Ideally we need to find a Le Fondre type of player from the lower leagues that will be very eager to impress and have that fighting spirit.
Other areas we are not to bad and could just extend the contracts of players like Harris or buy/loan Coady and Brayford for example.

If were looking for a striker at a lower level look no further than our very own sheffield lad lee gregory of halifax town in the conference, they've just got in playoffs and he's scored 29 goals in 35 games and rumour has it cloughy has had his people lookin at him ,don't say i never tell you anything;)

As others have said on this thread I trust Clough to bring in unknown's & turn them into fans favorites, its actually great to say for once this summer I trust the management side 100% to bring in what's required.

Bringing in Freeman & Brayford full time & Coady on another season long loan would be a big boost, whether it's realistic or not is another matter.

I'd love to see Murphy & Scougall given improved terms, they're essential to us moving forward. Clough has already spoke about Maguire & Flynn being close to agreeing new deals which is good news!

Big pre-seasons ahead for Baxter & Diego, if Baxter can shed a few pounds we could see an influential Baxter for 90 minutes rather than 60-65 minutes (he's not bad in that 60-65 minutes mind!), for young Diego it's make or break time, other youngsters have overtaken him in the pecking order he needs to knuckle down & work hard if he wants his chance in this side

Isn't it time Veron fulfilled his boyhood dream ;)
Veron loves us! - After his transfer to Manchester United, Verón said, "So there I was hoping to play for Sheffield United and here I am at Manchester United"

If only all Argentine internationals had the same dreams.

Why is there so much hype around Luke Freeman? Didn't look anything better than what we already have a couple of weeks back when we beat them. Also remember him looking quite rubbish against us last season after coming off the bench. Did he impress the season before or something?

Freeman is a player with definate ability but who has struggled with the amount of shite around him, including his manager. Sometimes tries to do too much on his own, or play the Hollywood pass when retaining the ball would be the better bet, but would thrive in the sort of systems Clough plays. Whether he has enough to move Murphy from his place I don't know, or whether he could play in the centre.

Stems from the first hour at the Lane in the last home game of 11/12 when he ripped us to bits as we shit our pants and backed off him.
