Where's the CM we badly need?

I don't see why it is such a huge priority.

We've also got Fleck, and Scougall and Coutts so far this season have been like new players. I think we have got some strength in depth in that position, and potentially Whiteman and Brook might get an opportunity soon. I think Wilder has filled the positions he needed filling as a priority. Having seen Brayford and Wallace leave during the last few days I would have said a couple of decent full backs would have been a priority to increase strength in depth and give us different options

I agree that is the system - we're weak in the 2 though - need someone strong, an enforcer, to play alongside either Fleck or Coutts in the deeper playmaker role. Someone who isn't Chris Basham.

The only thing that he`ll get out of Coutts is a serial inability to tackle/track back/run/pass forward/shoot.

Fleck and Coutts look ok to me when things are going well, but it's when we have to dig in and try to grind something out against a more physical side that the CM's we have worry me.

For all the negativity about Coutts and Basham (which is understandable), their lack of goals won't matter so much if they're the two in 4-2-3-1.

The emphasis will really fall on Duffy et al, and he's done it before even if his teammates haven't...

Scougall, Basham and Coutts aren't good enough in a 2 or a 3 man midfield in my opinion. Fleck, from what I've seen, has a lot of potential to be a very good central midfielder in a 3 man, but not in a 2. So I'd have to agree that we're one short in there. Disappointing to see Barnsey sign Morsy and then loan Moncur to Peterborough. 2 players that probably would have been ideal for us. Let's hope Wilder pulls something out of the bag, but it's not looking likely.
