Where is Bettis?

Personally I think with this change of ownership we missed a trick. I hoped that these owners, successfull businessmen in their own right, spending over £100M, would have got top level advice regarding regarding English football and what it takes to be an "established Premier League club". Did they undertake "due diligence" on Sheffield United and the requirements of the Premier League? I suspect they got some "economical truths" from the Abdullah and his commander in chief Mr Bettis which probably made things look more rosey than reality. Considering the number of English football American owners, especially in the Premier League, one would have thought COH could and should have seen a "bigger picture". I just hope that some of the advice they got wasn't limited to Des "the scout" Taylor.

Change has to start somewhere and I believe this should have been our "somewhere".
Sadly our ‘sliding doors’ moment with 18 minutes to go in the Play Off final saw our chance of serious investment go up in smoke. I think that if we’d have gone up COH would probably been able to get some serious dosh from other interested investors.

What you mean someone selling a business painted a rosy picture of said business in order to ensure that the sale went through?

Colour me shocked, if this behaviour continues throughout the world on an ongoing basis capitalism will be on its arse by Christmas!

If he comes back that might actually be enough to make me go and watch Dinno/Worksop for a bit.
Dinno? Fookin hell, their reserves came to play my lads team a few Saturdays ago. Some of their ultras made Pitsmoor Pig look like Little Lord Fauntleroy. A bit special…

They and their investment bankers will have done their due diligence don't worry about that. The big mistake they made is that they assumed with us in the top 2 and them providing 10m for Wilder to buy Cannon that promotion was guaranteed. A poor second half of the season and Wembley scuppered that so they sacked Wilder.

Their biggest mistake was appointing a new manager with no track record in the Championship whatsoever and we are now in our current position as a result of that decision. I suspect there will be real ructions in the investors as the lead investors will have sold the others a PL dream with no more personal money required. Now they are staring down the barrel of further investment just to keep us out of division one.

Will be interesting to hear Bettis tonight and see if he covers why Selles was appointed and what the plan is for next season without parachute payments
