By definition a CEO acts as the primary public spokesperson for the company, communicating with investors, the media, and the wider public. I can’t think why some sort of statement or update hasn’t been released by now regarding matters off the pitch as well as on it, unless of course he’s been told to stay schmuck.

A statement about events on the pitch???

Last time he, or any of our owners spoke out, was on the day of the play off final he was interviewed on sky

Not literally. Property and infrastructure v football matters and personnel. After the last statement which was very reassuring and positive, it’d be good to hear where the board think we are 3 months on, and what their immediate plans are.

Perhaps they haven't got any plans because Mr Selles hasb't quite worked out as the computer said but they can't be faulted for the players that have come through the door
Just need one more out the door and one more in that will do what they hoped!!

He's in Spain apparently on holiday. Tossa de Mar. Nice place. Not too touristy. Authentic Spanish.

So Abdullah's first rate judgement - tried to sell us to 2 crooks and then sold out to the COH clowns. Let's face it he wanted out and despite his daughters pathetic bye bye message (didn't have the balls to do it himself) he wanted his hands on the £££. Funny though despite stating he was skint, with no funds, which cost us the 2 point deduction he always seemed to have funds for his "vanity project" United World. Abdullah = continued mediocrity.

Mediocrity is better than being shit though isn’t it?!

The cost of becoming established in the PL rises every year, and we missed the boat. A large amount of money is needed just to remain in the Championship. We are only ever going to be “mediocre”. And that’s fine because it’s pretty well what we’ve always been in the last 100 years.

As Shred would have said "we may be just a mediocre team, but it's our fucking mediocre team"

How I miss that realism and passion

Quite right the cost does keep rising and we certainly have failed to catch the boat, in fact we struggle to even catch a rubber dingy at present.

But not only is a large amount of money required but the right strategies, structures and planning is required. Additionally the right experienced and knowledgeable people are required to implement those things. That doesn't just involve a Director of Football/Sporting Director. We have failed to move with the times and we never get the strategies, structures and planning in place or the right people.

While we accept mediocrity then let's look forward to the next 100 years of it.

I don’t disagree with any of that, but we have no choice other than to accept mediocrity because there’s nothing we can do to change it unless someone has a spare billion kicking around.

Hard to argue with this TBH.

Seemed to be he was desperate to sell. Simply didn't have the funds to run the club.

Personally I think with this change of ownership we missed a trick. I hoped that these owners, successfull businessmen in their own right, spending over £100M, would have got top level advice regarding regarding English football and what it takes to be an "established Premier League club". Did they undertake "due diligence" on Sheffield United and the requirements of the Premier League? I suspect they got some "economical truths" from the Abdullah and his commander in chief Mr Bettis which probably made things look more rosey than reality. Considering the number of English football American owners, especially in the Premier League, one would have thought COH could and should have seen a "bigger picture". I just hope that some of the advice they got wasn't limited to Des "the scout" Taylor.

Change has to start somewhere and I believe this should have been our "somewhere".
