Where else are we famous ?

As this is another blatant holiday boast thread, I'll join in and will ask at the 10 Islands in Caribbean I'm visiting over the Christmas period.

Just back from the beach bar mentioned in my original post ( which is now my favourite in the world - sorry, can't say ) and this time, the owners son came to chat with us.

It turns out that he's been a professional footballer for 17 years, mainly with Rhodes in the Greek league but also spent a year with St. Mirren around 2002.

He told me he loved Britain, particularly England where he also spent some time, and that he is a keen follower of the Mighty Blades because of our connection with Vas B and Dellas.

was it you told them they had to lie that their first name is Patrick or Norman or Brian? - if they cannot tell me their real name, then I lose trust in anything they might tell me; oh and I also lose respect for them too.

Just returned to our hotel from a beach bar in Rhodes where the owner asked me ( as he brought a free snack of cheese, salami, cucumber, celery and homemade breadsticks ' cos we'd had a couple of glasses of wine )

" Where are you from in England " ? When I replied Sheffield, he exclaimed " Ah, SHEFFIELD UNITED !!"

It prompted me to wonder where else in the world other Blades have had a similar reaction or recognition of our great club. Answers please ?

PS. I'm posting this after an arduous day at the beach with a temperature of 75 F, a slight breeze and not a cloud in the sky and I hope that forum members will recognise the sacrifices I make on their behalf.
