How are quality loans made later and not earlier? Makes no sense. Tell that to Stoke and Ashley Phillips last summer, loaned before the season starts.

If a player has quality then his parent club need to be sure they don’t need him before he is loaned out. Those decisions can only be made when the incoming transfers have been concluded. It always has been like this and probably always will be.
The early ones are the youngsters who need experience (xHenderson) , but we have enough inexperienced players !!
I guess Ashley Phillips was clearly not part of his club’s immediate future.

Manor Solomon is one that would automatically improve 95% of the sides in the championship, thats clear he's not part of Spurs' plans this season, so why arent we after him for example?

Never seen anything of him, can only assume he’s not good enough or surely would have been given a chance. Can add that fee to all the other money we pissed away last summer.

We had one last decent shot at promotion last season and couldn’t have got it more wrong if they tried. I think we will be fine this season but I do worry for us over the next few seasons unless something changes at the top. Can only see a steady decline year on year otherwise.

Finish top half is a bold claim given that we've currently got a much weaker squad than the one that failed to finish in the top half last season.

I’ve not paid too much attention to the friendlies (never do) but I think I’ve seen he’s played in most games (if not all) hasn’t he?

He has played the most minutes in the squad in preseason( i think someone put that up?)

Ok, its preseason, ok, some of the games have been weak opposition, but he hasn't looked out of place from what I have seen and he also seemed the make some half decent passed with a bit of urgency to them.

Would happily start the season with him in CB.
