if you compare the team in our first season to this season, I think most will think, what did we do with all that money from those players?oh yh we bought another little Scotsman.
If you look at that team compared to now, you would think. Wow with the right management we could have won every game, with a rb like lowton, midfielders like Montgomery Quinn, Williamson etc.. And one amazing strike force (but less not go into too much detail about that). When you look at that team, you think,"how has it come to this?" I'll admit some of our players in the current team I would have in that one such as Murphy Brayford and Basham but when you look back, Steve simonsen was our last safe keeper that didn't let goals in from 20 yards out.
Then again I also miss the championship days, when we could spend 6mil on a top striker and had a commanding defender like Morgan and a pacey one in killer and save hands kenny in goal.
Futhermore Naughton coming through the ranks, who I always thought was better than walker.
Don't get me started on jags and teams before that with players like none other than... Yes you've got it... Steve kabba
Now when you look at the team it makes me really sad to see what my beloved United has become under managers like Danny Wilson, David wier and Nigel clough. However saying that "in clough we trust" to get us back to those memorable days
