Where are they now - Terry Kennedy

He was Harry's perfect partner. I first watched them play together in the final of a youth tournament in Ireland. Maguire had the physique and composure, Terry had exceptional defensive attributes. They did well, although struggled to keep up with the likes of Welbeck and others in a strong Man Utd side.

They kept up their partnership in a strong youth side which reached the final of the youth cup a bit later. But as Maguire was introduced to the first team, Kennedy's injury problems started. He kept battling away, and I remember we had a bit of a injury crisis at centre half and everybody thought Kennedy was eventually going to get his chance. Only for United to bring in a loanee at the last minute - John Egan - to play instead. Kennedy tweeted he was gutted.

In the end there weren't many more chances for him and it became obvious his knee was restricting him. Good to see him finally getting some luck.

Kennedy started 16 games for us in league and cup. We only lost 2 - his debut in 2011 when we'd already been relegated and we lost at Swansea, and 1-0 to MK Dons in 2015. He played in some of our big wins in Clough's second season, most notably when we won at Champions Bristol City. Towards the end however he couldn't complete a full game. That was a big loss.

He was unlucky with us, and it's nice he's lucky now.

Great for the lad! Proper chuffed to hear this.

Could have had a blinding career if not for the injuries!

Good for him. It must be heartbreaking to be so so close to the millions that being a pro footballer as a career brings, then miss out because of a twist of fate. Really hope the lad enjoys his win. Such a shame that injuries fucked up what could have been an amazing career.
