Working from home since March 2020, I'm far from ready to return to the office. I'm happy for things to open up so we can get back to normal but going back into the office, honestly, I'm not sure I can deal with that. I need to check see if my "parking spot" is still available too, could have double yellows on it now, bloody hope not.

I think if that were true our hierarchy would have notified fans so as to get the tickets out fast, the fact that they've gone to general sale shows that the take up has been slower, i'm surprised as I thought the Slavisa effect would outweigh the relegation effect.

The figure for renewals was 16-17k. I dunno how many "new" STs might get sold but I doubt it'll be many after the agonies of last season.
When we came down in 2007 , if memory serves , we kept gates up around 26k.
To achieve that we are now gonna have to sell 9k walk-ups which I just can't see happening.
The club has done all it can with very good ST prices + refunds for matches missed at the end of 19/20.
But the inept nature of our failure must have left a bitter taste in everyone's mouth.
In 20/21 it felt like the club were doing everything in their power to alienate the fanbase , on top of the Covid ban on attendances for which they can be excused.
The nonsensical imbalance of the squad , the failure to recruit quality in the summer , the failure to deal with JoC injury properly , the failure to recruit a JoC replacement in January , the stupid purchase of Brewster's Millions when midfield was lacking. The continued playing of the cunt Lundstram which must have really pissed-off the squad. The weird Wilder comments about the squad HE put together , etc etc.
Only the fully committed 17k Blades are gonna tolerate that shit + renew. The other 8 or 10k are gonna cut their losses.
I always want to laugh at the "build it + they will come" idiots who think we should have extended the Lane to 43k during lockdown #1 - they're as size obsessed as the pigs. I'm happy to feel part of 17k loyal Blades , occasionally swollen by 10k glory-hunters when we get to the PL.
For some reason we have never grown regular crowds like in other football-mad towns - maybe the Peak District is just too darned attractive ?

I wouldn't be surprised if a few thousand didn't renew because they're wary over covid itself or if not the virus itself, wary that covid up and downs mean they might not be able to go anyway. Save money for next season or half season tickets around Christmas if football/the world is in a more normal place then.

Of course the take up has been slower, the last time we sold season tickets we'd just been promoted to the PL with a massive amount of momentum behind us and 6 of the previous 8 seasons in league 1.

Now we're selling season tickets in a shit version of the world in general after an abysmal season in the PL. We were hardly going to shift 25k in the first phase of sales were we?!

17-18k is about where we should expect to be, with around 4-5k pay on the day and then a few more for big games. Away fans would normally weigh in with another 2-3k giving us around the 25k average mark, but we might not have that for a while.

Let's be honest, if people aren't getting tickets because they would refuse to attend if they have to wear a mask, it's pretty pathetic.
If they are able to attend due to government restrictions then of course it would be refunded, just as it was previously.

Those that do not want to attend due to the risk of getting Covid, should have the option to retain their seats for next year as clearly that's an understandable concern.

Considering we're still in June and still several weeks away from the start of the season, I'd like to think away fans will be allowed in by then.

Full with masks full without masks makes no difference, as long as there's a good crowd. Sport is shite with no-one watching.

Bit of cloth over your gob just makes it awkward to eat your pie, that's all.

Strawberries at Wimbledon obviously, although they ought to consider adding balti pies to the menu.

There's no legal requirement to wear a mask outdoors.

Also, all restrictions are planned on coming to an end on July 19th.

Half the time, the fear mongering comes from the those who moan about restrictions in the first place.

Either the NHS App "double jabbed a fortnight ago" Vaccination Passport or proof of negative lateral flow test in 48 hours before entry are required to get in. (Same as the EURO games at Wembley).

Is this fact or are you making it up ,my mate is trying to get one on the family stand for him and his daughter and they only have a couple near the kop or front row. Doesnt sound like half capacity to me.
 



There's always somebody knowingly or otherwise who will have the bug, and it seems as fast as they find a cure for one another one pops up to take it's place,
sooner or later we're going to have to face it or live under ground in a cave,
So lets have our football back so we can then at least face what ever happens good or bad in the open air......... 👍
