There's never been any rebuttals of anything.

Just his mates and couple of local hacks making insinuations without substance, then hiding behind non-disclosure clauses.

Personally I find it all pathetic because in the main they're the same people who now can't wait to stick the knife into the Prince and the new manager.

I'd be more than happy to see them all fuck off with Wilder.

No we didn’t. That was the previous season when we unexpectedly finished in the top ten. Obviously we were going to make a profit because we wouldn’t have budgeted for the extra money we got for finishing 9th.

Think it's quite unfair to throw shit at the board regards transfers (regarding prem to championship now) as the targets they may have had, certainly wouldn't join us when weve just been relegated. Keeping my powder dry until the end of the window, see where we are then.

So, what were they doing having such targets, when it was obvious we were down in January.
Targets need to be smart and realistic,not based on a single and prayer.

Yes of course they are cheaper,but because of new post Brexit rules you can only bring in players that are established internationals or have played regularly in the major competitions. (While Wilder was manager we could bring anybody in).
Do not think we can fish in that pool anymore.

Wilder left because he knew he'd peaked and the team had peaked. What we're seeing is he knew was coming. It's awful. The swashbuckling attitude and free flowing football is long gone. His arrogance (in hindsight) cost us dearly. We'll never really know what happened with Duffy, but he's one of the more creative players I've personally seen at the club. Cracking player and could turn a game on his own. Sad how it turned out. But it would seem it was Wilder's way or no way.

I'll forever be grateful for those good times, though.

I don’t. He rode on the wave (that he created in fairness). Once the challenges came along and managers tested him he failed miserably and jumped ship.

Fulham have just spent 8M on a kid from Brazil,no problem to get him over apparently.

Spending 8m on him will be part of the reason why he'll get a GBE (Governing Body Endorsement, a work permit in old terms). His salary will also be a factor, Villa had a similar issue when signing Bertrand Traore last year. IIRC they had to make him their highest paid player, or something to that effect, in order to demonstrate that he was an important employee etc.

Also, Fulham's new signing doesn't have anything to do with Brexit and the hoops they'll have had to jump through aren't new. Brexit simply means clubs now have to go through the same process for French, German, Spanish players as they previously had to for Brazilians and Argentinians.

Previously, the UK's EU membership gave these players automatic rights to work in the UK.

The main point is in the 3rd paragraph.
 
I agree with a number of points raised in this thread, if you've got 10 mins I recorded a video after Wilder left summarising all that we learnt

I reckon a £100m war chest suggests that the board did stick to the plan
However when it became obvious that CW couldn’t spend the money wisely (best window ever remember…. Burke, Brewster, Ramsdale…) the board wanted to give him some help in the transfer dept, not unjustly

Soon as he got wind the teddy went out the window and the board aren’t sticking to the plan?!

A plan needs to be agile, not like WW1 send troops over the top day after day…

Give Slav 2 full windows, we all want signings but no point in signing players for the sake of it

Reckon they knew Berge or Rammers financially needed to go, see who it is, as that is the first signing, a replacement, then move onto others with what’s left

CW & the board had a plan, part of it straight from CWs mouth was ‘not gambling with the club’s future on big fees and contracts’

Well we have over over £50m of strikers in Mousse, McB, Brewster & Burke - reckon £120-150k pw?
And 1 goal in 4 games to show for it from a 35yr old local lad who’s contract expires at the end of the season

Who didn’t follow the plan??

The bit that puzzles me about Wilders departure was the way it was done.

If you work for a company, and want to leave, you walk away giving them notice. They pay you for the notice you work through. Whereas, Wilder left, but still got paid 4million compensation? Why?
