We started with this team... it shows not much has changed at all...
  • 01 Howard
  • 17 McGahey
  • 15 Collins
  • 02 Alcock
  • 16 Davies (McNulty - 63' )
  • 09 Murphy (Flynn - 65' )
  • 06 Basham (Wallace - 74' )
  • 08 Doyle
  • 20 Campbell-Ryce Booked
  • 11 Baxter
  • 19 McEveley
Theres only 2 or 3 in that team that haven't been playing regularly for us in the past few months, Alcock, Collins and McGahey one could argue Wallace (but he'd probably be in the team had he not been injured)

It also shows how remarkably well they've done to be sitting 5th in the league, with the same 11-14 players. It shows our squad is actually quite small, and with the run of games we have tues/sat its gonna be a hard run in for us.

Small squad, really?

Howard
Alcock McGahey Collins McEveley
Doyle
Davies Basham Murphy
Baxter

or

Howard/Turner
Brayford Basham McEveley Harris
Doyle
Coutts Holt Murphy
Done
no it's exactly the same

Ah yeah, Alcock whos going out on loan.

Collins who can't even train with the first team

McGahey whos currently at Tranmere

A fair number of players (5) in both of your teams are the same.

The last time we played Rochdale other than position changes, there was only 3 players missing from what we will probably have in our 18 man squad tonight. Obviously the new signings will take a few of those places.

We started like this that day:

Howard
Alcock McGahey Collins McEveley
Davies Basham Doyle JCR
Baxter Murphy

Compared to Saturday's starting line up only Doyle and Baxter remained in roughly the same positions, which means we have changed a few things.

I don't mean in regards to changin players positions, i said the same players on the pitch (wherever they play) discounting injurys.

Howard would be playing if fit for example.

I'd be extremely disappointed if we lined up the same as that tonight.

Position changes are very important. For example the back 4 tonight will be totally different. What you are suggesting as long as the 11 is the same then its the same? I.e. Howard as CF and Murphy as GK

And if I had tits and a fanny I'd be a bird....

You're stating that we've got a small squad yet you base it on two games. A better way to express it is that we've got a strong, fit core of the side and of course Clough likes to keep a certain number of players in his starting line up.

However, look through the season, I'm pretty sure that all the squad have played their part. It probably shows that were fairly close to Cloughs first choice 11, injuries and suspensions are holding that back at this moment.

Okay, i'll put it a different way.

18 of our entire squad have played more than 10 games this season.

If you put that to played 15 or more the number goes down to 13.

Take out those that are not at the club at the moment plus Collins, then stats show we use the same bunch of players in every game, 18 is a small squad imo.

That also included cup matches too, take those out too...

Ok that seems more realistic way to look at it. I think if you look at Done, Brayford, Che Adams, Coutts, Freeman, Kennedy and perhaps Holt, then they all should hit the 10 game mark. If Howard's back soon then Turner probably won't make the ten games mark.

On top of that lot above, I'd imagine Davies, Reed and possibly Higdon to hit 15 games too. So if I've worked it out right then we could be looking at around 23 players hitting 15 games each.
