When was atmosphere at its best?

Unfortunately, the trend is recent enough that the results have yet to fully kick in. The time lag between CO2 emission and their pollution and warming effect is around 50 years, and whatever changes we observe now are only the tip of the iceberg.

Looking back at the 2 extra degrees of warmth last time CO2 levels were this high (Pliocene era, 3 million years ago), should be enough of a call to action considering the damage two more degrees would cause today.

When we were allowed to stand.
When there is a sustained level of attacking, chances, tackles flying in. If it is just once chance created every 20 mins there is no momentum built with the atmosphere either.
It always helps if the opposition has a few shithouses to shout at......Swansea didn't have any.
I think it is fair to say generally (as a 60 year old) that I found the atmosphere much better in the 80's and 90's. But that might be nostalgia and only recalling the good games. Some recent games in promotion seasons and the season we finished 9th in Prem had some cracking atmospheres (3-3 Man Utd at home for eg)

I started going in the late 90s and the place was generally half-full with an atmosphere like a mausoleum. The rise under Wilder was the best sustained period for crowd enthusiasm from my time I think, although there could be a bit of recency bias creeping in there because the Warnock era also had its moments.
