Perhaps I can explain where we are at with an analogy:-
I am stood at the end of the peer with every other Wednesdayite and I saw SWFC drowning way out in a rip tide. The pier was a little tired and needed a makeover. The weather was awful and we had indeed seen better days at the sea...........
I looked round for a while to see who or what would save it.
I saw no-one and nothing coming forward and I saw generally murmuring of concern in many but no strategy emerge to save the old girl.
I jumped in.
Lots of people cried out "what is he doing, I don't understand what's going on". I screamed back "trying to save her - fancy helping???"
I am now out in the rip tide holding her head above water and slowly heading back to the pier, 2/3rds of my fellow Wednesdayites have jumped in with me but we can't reach the shore for a long time without help from those still observing.
1/3rd are still stood on the pier, half of them are saying those people in the water are idiots and its all doomed to failure, some are saying I can't swim but if I could I woudl help, many others are saying they are not going to swim again until the weather is fantastic and they are offered an incentive to do so.
Its hard work out here and if everyone else, who could do so, jumped in and we all joined hands we would have the old girl and every Wednesdayite back on the pier in double quick time.
It is sure hard work out here fighting the tide and making progress while people stand on the pier and just watch..............and even harder when they don't even encourage the effort..............
But we will get back to the pier no matter how long it takes.
