I think the crowds for the Bolton and Scunthorpe games suggest that blades fans were buying into something in a way I've never known before
In previous promotion campaigns attendances and performances in big /crunch games have been disappointing
Hope this signals a change in culture at the club but it has to start with the team and management before the fans can fully shake off the past emotional turmoil
Winning the title in the style we have this season will go a long way to changing that ,next year will be a big challenge for all of us but I think we thrive in being the underdog and I look forward to seeing the club and all its components test itself against clubs of similar size and stature and ambitions and without the pressure of being a prize scalp or the big fish in a little pond

Exciting times

Southend away was when I thought we were the real deal. Before that I was wondering whether we just having a good spell but the way we totally dismantled the form side in the league made me think we had something something special.

Then of course we got hammered at Walsall and a the fears came back!

I knew we were onto something good when Freeman scored at Gillingham. His goal at Chesterfield to bring us back to 1-1 where he almost dived into the crowd to celebrate. His trademark goals where he races into the box and blasts the ball straight up into the roof of the net, giving the keeper no chance. His sublime goal this week against Millwall.

Jack O'Connell, a lad who would rather walk barefoot over broken glass than let someone get past him, desperate to race forward and help the cause, dying to score. He was so committed to that header he scored on Tuesday that he took James Hanson out on the way through, nothing was going to stand in his way.

Fleck, Duffy and Coutts, the midfield trinity, controlling most of the games this season. Teams try and match our midfield, most come unstuck.

Big James Hanson - a big man up front who isn't lazy, who puts in a shift, who takes on the big defenders on his own terms.

Captain Fantastic - Billy Sharp, closing in on 30 goals, working harder than any other time I have seen him.

Like most of us, the last 6 years have been tough being a Blade, but the Southend away game, the Peterborough away game, the recent Bolton home game and this weeks Millwall game, must have even the most skeptical fans starting to believe that Chris Wilder and Alan Knill have put the final pieces of the jigsaw together and no one is taking it apart.

UTB.

No we fucking can't.

I can't believe anybody with a brain or any sort of experience thinks we can.

No need for that mate. I'm just pointing out the fact it's not mathematically in the bag yet which means yes we can still balls it up. I'm not the only one with a brain who thinks the same...

Must be those nerves completely overpowering your brain then.

We've lost 3 since August.

Are we going to lose more than 3 before the end of the season?

Are the great Fleetwood (fucking Fleetwood!) going to win every game?

I've thought we're likely since Bolton. I wouldn't call that 'believing' though, just 'expecting'. Peterborough was very convincing. I think it was only after Millwall that I've said it aloud to anyone, when I mentioned something about us playing in the Championship next season. That's probably my 'belief' test; when I'm willing to say out loud that we're up. Only now am I confident enough to put it on here for posterity.

I know that's highly unlikely. Maybe I'm being too cautious - do not want to piss on the party! UTB

I think yesterday was the first time I thought omg we may just have done this. Having watched United for so many years now and thought so many times that this year was going to be our year, I have t dared to dream this season. I think I can now.

When we found ourself top of the table with and with a resonable space between second place, 9 points lead we have had recently, once you start making space like that at this stage of the season promotion is certainly on the cards.

I know nothing has been confirmed yet but barring any real disaster we'll be playing championship football next season. Was wondering when everybody else started to believe that we will be promoted this season?

For me it was after the Bolton game. Second in the league coming to the lane and we absolutely outclassed them for 90 minutes. Went home and started to think "if second in the league are as good as that, who else have we got to fear and who can stop us"?

For me, it was definately when Blade Too Long told me to :)

After Bradford away I thought we could make the play offs

After Chesterfield away I thought we had a chance of automatic

After Southend away I was sure of automatic

After Bolton at home I thought we could win the title

After Millwall I was sure we'd win the title

When we bounced back from that home defeat against Walsall with 6 league wins in a row. We never usually do well in the congested period over Christmas, yet that run of games got us out in front and we've never looked back since.

Southend away - I certainly felt different after that.

Gillingham away was a huge turning point IMO.

More recently, probably Oxford away.

Bury away on 2nd Jan was when i started to wonder how we could throw it away. Which I suppose shows belief.

Millwall was when I knew it was going happen

Believed after Chezzy away.Said we'd be top by New Year after Swindon at home.Strangely I still have doubts we'll finish top though...
