really , , our resources,
both liverpool and man utd have spent over 100m on players this season , neither are in the top 4
their resourses aint done mucxh better than ours
pity its footballers in boots on a pitch and not bank statements

It's a pity the players we bring in after looking at the bank statements aren't good enough to work as hard as Leicester or Spurs

all signings are gambles
Leicester ended last season on a high and got better, Spurs have been building for 2 years under pottachimo
we havent , Adkins came into a deflated squad

Argh, I hate the formatting on this site, don't you? I don't think you answered my main bit. How can you categorically state that we will not get promoted this season? Also, that "mental decision by our wonderful board" was sarcastic. Wasn't that obvious? My point was that lots of crazy and wonderful goings on have happened here in the 5 years we've been 3rd tier, and that's pretty good, isn't it? There isn't a lack of ambition from the powers that be if we get into the play-offs every season is there? We aren't entitled to promotion. We are decidedly a 3rd tier side, therefore anything over mid table is actually good. You don't like that, do ya? Neither do I. We've got no choice but to suck it up tho, have we?

I don't know what you mean by "54 points." are you saying that because the top team in the division currently has that? I didn't mean we were gonna get automatic, I was on about play-offs I thought that was implicit because I never mentioned top 2 and did a big thing about play-offs. It doesn't make much sense anyway, as by the time we reach 54 points the teams above us will have more than that, leading to a higher total needed to top the league.

Do you mean 54 points by the end of the season? That's 3 wins and a draw out of 19 games, I don't think I'm being too hasty when I say yes, we will definitely reach that amount. Or do you mean 54 additional points? That would require us to win all but one of our remaining games. I'm gonna stick my neck out again and say that no, that will not happen.

So yeah isn't the average for 6th something like 75 points? That's 34 points away from what we have now. It's a tough order for sure, but we're certainly capable of achieving it. Also, I think it looks like we could probably top off 6th with around 70, as it's quite a low quality league this season. Chesterfield were 6th with 69 points last season. It's doable. Completely doable. We could be in the play-off spots in 6 hours' time, after all.

6 hours later we're not in the play offs and we are on target to be short of sixth come the end of the season.

You could have saved a lot of time today.

But we're 1 point away. Even after such a disappointing result.

As I have said before, and with no disrespect to the clubs in our League, when I look at some of the games left this season (home and away), Port Vale, Rochdale, Burton Albion, Doncaster Rovers, Fleetwood Town, Oldham, Crewe, Southend United, Walsall. Gillingham, Chesterfield, Shrewsbury, Scunthorpe, etc. The fact that Sheffield United is STILL playing against these teams after all these years, is terrible. The fact that we have a very high degree of likelihood that we will be playing them all again next season is even worse.
