do we just try and stay in 2nd
or should we not be chasing Burnley down for the title

if some blades think we were still catchable with a double points lead ergo its surely possible for us to catch the clarets

if we aim high those chasing us have a doubly difficult task

so rather than cling on lets push on

I can’t see Burnley dropping any points, and when they do it’s only draws. They’d need a significant wobble to drop that many points to be reachable.

I think we continue as is and widen the gap to third. I’m hoping at some point Boro decide to rest players for the play off run seeing the gap as unattainable.

Most match days I ask myself the same question while having a piss in kop bogs, is it the urinal or blokes feet next to me who is lashing all over the floor I should be aiming for.

Like the bloke next to me I say we just piss on the bastard below and let Burnley do their own thing. Let company get his face all over sky and be classed as peps successor just for him to be shown the door 10 games in. We just have to keep boro at arms distance

I’d imagine that Hecky and the staff aren’t really focusing on anything other than the next match and trying to win it.

It’s only us fans that will be looking at the different scenarios and the what ifs.

Even before the two recent loses I didn't care about 1st or 2nd. Going up 2nd is as good as coming first in terms of rewards it brings. I genuinely haven't been looking at that gap all the time we have been in the automatics.

The difference is, Burnley are winning every week. Comfortably. They could beat Reading's points record this year, such is their dominance.

Their PPG average is 2.24 and that seems to be increasing week on week.
Ours is 1.94 and has taken a hit in recent weeks. We've just entered a tough run of fixtures and our record within it is P3, W1 L2.

They've also got a 12 point lead (granted, we have a game in hand) and far superior GD.

It's not happening.

If we can maintain the gap over Middlesbrough through to Easter we'll have done really well.
Our fixtures then start to look much kinder on the home straight.

Aim for 1st and be happy with second.

Just promotion, via automatics. Our chance to even try to keep pace with Burnley went long ago. Or only mission now is to sustain at least +4 points above Boro. Wednesday's game is nice but completely insignificant compared to promotion. if we break players or tire them and end up getting trunked by Blackburn I am kicking my telly through

Catching 12 points up is easy peasy. Ask Blades11

Play offs for me jeff

Joking , realistically I think Burnley are long gone

If we can keep this gap for the next 4/5 games we are up 🔜🔜

We're only 7 points clear, we don't get the points for the game in hand until we've played it and scored more than the opposition.

Our aim never changes, win the next game. Doesn't matter where we are in the league, what round of the cup we're in, just win the game.

Warnock would have done well to remember that when we went to Bolton in the Prem and lost one nowt in his safety first period. Go to win the game, doesn't matter how we do it, points make prizes.

If you trash the telly, will the “my take” following be based on phone highlights or just a wild guess ? SB will have failed again and got an extra point for his hat trick ?!!

not bothered if it happens really but we aim to finish with 6 points of yem it should be enough

theyve been lucky so far with no major injuries or suspensions
and even super tyeams have wobbles

2nd is just as good as first place in this league.. did anyone of us give a shit Norwich finished first in 2018?
Won't lie, I was a little bit annoyed given that we could have overtaken them on the last day if results had gone our way. But it's not like it kept me awake at night, and second would be more than good enough this time out.

I reckon if Burnley are promoted with six or seven games to go then they might drop a few points but still don't think we (or anybody else) will catch them.
