It doesn't matter at all. But then, we aren't debating that are we. A poster said they are capable of scoring double figures. I responded by questioning this and asking his justification for this statement. So, in effect, you've agreed with me yet looking back at your fest response you would never think it would you? That is my point, you aren't responding to my posts, just constantly griping with me trying to win a personal battle that only you are a part of. If you don't like my posts, ignore me, it's just so simple.
Would make both our lives much simpler.

Its a forum ,and for that matter a Sheffield United forum ,if someone criticises the club I support I have every right to respond and defend the club I support ,when I think the point is wrong at least. It is not personal ,I don't know why you are trying suggest that, it is in direct response to an opinion I don't agree with ,debate I think you call it. If you don't like my response ignore it ,quid pro quo.

Yes, in pissed off that we're in our 4th consecutive yeD in the 3rd tier. So forgive me for being slightly on the negative side.

Not another person who is obsessed with being pissed off we're in the third tier. Just try and remember:
  • we're here because we deserve to be
  • unlike most of the clubs here, our stay will be temporary
  • unlike most of the clubs here, we're extremely unlikely to ever have to worry about going down further
  • we will most likely go up this season
  • if following a football club wasn't up and down, it'd be dull and there'd be nothing to talk about

Honestly, do you expect us to be an established Premier League side? Would you even want that? Plugging away every season to try and finish 15th, paying £50 a game on the weeks where you can actually get a ticket?

We're a top half Championship club and for most of both of our lifetimes, that's exactly what we'll be. Sometimes we'll be worse, occasionally we'll be better and go up, then come back down again. Get used to it and you won't be so disappointed!

No you've miss the point of debate then. After lots of back and forth you still haven't proided a genuine reason why you felt the need to respond to my post on this topic. Look back at your first post and tell me how that isn't personal!! It's funny how you don't like people slagging your club off, yet you want us to sign Ched Evans. The very thing which will guarantee a generation of slating!

That's a very odd post SDP. Jot really sure how to respond.

Clearly, I've never said I expect us to be challenging the top of the prem. however, we both agree we are a top half championship club, so why would I not be annoyed about 4 years in division 3? You said yourself where we should be as a club. So, are you happy with where we are? I'll assume no, which means we're on the same page.

Just because we are here because we 'deserve to be here' doesn't make it any better does it? Do you mean our stay Won't be temporary, like:Yeovil, Rotherham, Brentford, Bournemouth etc?

I've actually stated many many a time, I aret bothered how good we are as a team. But, to repeat myself again, my grip is the false promises and 'jam tomorrow' attitude of our board, emphasised by their handling of the Evans debacle.

I only want to sign ched for football reasons if he is up to it. The rest is for the judiciary to deal with, we are a football club. This has always been my opinion.

Not really sure what evidence you have to make you think Scougall, JCR and Flynn should be finding double figures. You'd be hard-pressed to find evidence for the other 2 really.

I actually said they should be "targeting" double figures, not quite the same as actually achieving it!

If you set up with a 5 in midfield there should be license for three of these to be regularly finding themselves in the box. If you're an attacking midfielder (i.e. one of these three) then part of the job is finding the net. Flynn got 7 last season and the goal at Villa Park alone suggests there should be 10 in him. Scougall hit 3 in half a season and should be in there doing better than that this season.
As I alluded too in my earlier post it is this "failure" to get these goals that is highlighting the need for a striker more than it would if they were scoring the goals the team is set up for.

Well I don't read all of your posts, so I wouldn't know what you've stated many a time, but I just think you need to lighten up a bit. It's a temporary stay and we'll forever be yoyo-ing between the top 3 leagues, with brief stays in tier 1 and 3 I'd imagine. I hear a lot of people pissed off that we're in Div 3 as if we have some sort of divine right to be higher. We're here because we've been crap and we'll get out when we're less crap (this season I think).

It was more of a friendly 'cheer up' post than anything else :)
