Ok initially I missunderstood the intent of your post.

The latter part, I didn't say that they were frozen out by Clough, but they were frozen out previously and he's brought them back into the fold

With Murphy and Flynn he simply gave them confidence to go out and play with freedom as he did with the rest of the squad. Murphy has always been a good player to me and Flynny is great when his confidence is flying, this is what Cloughy installed, he now needs to install it into the whole squad and let them play with the freedom like they did the second half of last season. Even Brayford isn't going forward as much as he likes, albeit he's only 2 games in but it's cleaf to see that we just aren't playing with freedom and letting some of our more influential players express themselves in the manner they'd like. That's what it looks like to me anyhow.

What stubborness is this then ?

Last season was a honeymoon period . He had everything to gain and nothing to lose. If he kept us up ,as he did , best thing since sliced bread , if we had gone down , not his fault , it was DW team as a whole.

Not knowing or having a best 11 , is preventing us moving forward and the mentality do not lose the match , is causing the problem.

It seems to me we are trying to do what Charlton did , when they got promoted , but failing badly. They had players to go for a 0-0 , then snatch a win , or hold onto a 1-0 . We cant do that because the players are not the type or build to grind a positive result out.
