Don't forget how far we've come in such a short space of time. We drew with Wigan 2 years ago today with this team.

And came back from 3-0 down in the last 20 minutes to boot. Other than the win at Peterborough, possibly the pinnacle of Adkins' reign. How sad.

Wendies will want to win this game as much as us.what else have they got to look forward to this season. Whatever the result advantage us .and the way Chris as got the players playing this should be a win for us. But again lets not under estimate the importance also of this game for wendies

Went that night and we were garbage, easily slipping to 3-0 down. Most, but not all, were chanting "We're fooking shit, we're fooking shit, we're fooking shit".

The 'fanatastic' comeback came from nowhere and wasn't really very convincing but somehow we did it. Wigan bottled it and very much deserved the "You're fooking shit...."

Under Warnock, similar miraculous comebacks seemd like moral victories and you left the ground elated. This was just part of the Adkins roller crap-coaster and left me a bit non plussed.

I continued to speak up for him for the sole reason that I thought we'd had too many managerial changes and somebody had to have two seasons at it. This fair minded logic went out of the window, with the shittiest performance of the season* in the final home game to Scunny.

* This took some doing, considering Shrewsbury, Burton, Colchester etc etc etc all got their first ever wins at the Lane.

I liked Ryan Flynn. :)

He would have been a premiership footballer if he didn’t have the body of a sickly child...

Aunties uncles etc...

I agree, I always liked Flynn & he did play some lovely balls into the box. Wasn’t he the one who set up Jug ears 1st against spurs??

Having said that, I was always surprised when his shots even reached the goal never mind went in!!

I was at that game. We were awful for 70 minutes and could have quite easily been about 6-0 down but for some good saves by Long (yes!). Then we started playing and could have nicked it in the end.

I nominate Bury away as being THE shittest performance that season.

Flynn was terrific in Clough's first season. Him on one wing and Murphy on the other were great to watch.

Where 'terrific' has a new meaning of: 'ocassionally very good, but lightweight with little heart and made of chocolate'?

I always liked him as a footballer and he had a lovely eye for a pass and a touch, but games would pass him by for long periods.

We really have moved on from those dark days.

Not saying he would get anywhere near this team mate, and I agree that for most of his time with us he was fairly average. But Clough got a tune out of him for those 5 months or so and I enjoyed watching.

Wow. Funny, isn't it, how easy it is to forget the semi-miracle Wilder has worked.

If only Baxter hadn't decided to be a prick, would be a decent proposition in that 'Duffy-role'.
I disagree. He’s far lazier, doesn’t have the close control or any change of pace. Baxter was capable of one thing per game that made him look great but never came close to influencing a game for me.

I nominate Gillingham away - opening day 4-0 defeat. We should have just ditched Adkins after that but sacking a manager after 1 game would be a bit harsh - even for him
