We're up, but we have a title to win. We deserve it, but we still need to earn it.

Then it's onto the retention list/transfer list, and that's the point of this thread.

To all the lads who are probably not going to be here next season, I offer my sincere thanks and gratitude.

McNulty, Scougs, Done etc...All had a part to play. Wilder has said himself that the attitude from the lads not getting picked has been exceptional.

Be nice to appreciate the ones who may well depart in a couple of months.

seems to be a hasty rush to move players on from some , lets finish this season first , eh

I guarantee you that I'm not the first person to have thought about it.

I can think of at least one person who's had it the back of their mind for months.

no doubt , but they are all contacted to May , and as such still integral members of the squad

Some will be aware their days are numbered, but theres no need to be brutal about it

Good shout!

How am I being brutal by thanking the fringe players for their part in our promotion? That's the complete opposite of what the thread is about.

I'm not trying to be backhanded, I was being sincere. Seems relevant as some lads have had a lot of stick from some on here.

If I was Wilder, which you all should be thankful that I'm not, I wouldn't even refer to next season. I'd let every player in that squad enjoy the rest of the season as a Blade, from George Long to Billy Sharp to Marc McNulty. Let's have a tittle winning party for the rest of the season, the fans showing EVERY squad member why they'll never forget this experience.

McNulty's one who's taken a load of stick (from me included). But he's epitomised the sense of togetherness of this squad.

No sulking, no bitching, no whining. Just seemingly genuine pleasure in the successes we've achieved along the way. And that photo of the bench (and the players not included that day) celebrating after the equaliser at home to Scunny is one of the iconic images of the season for me.

Regained a lot of affection for the lad this season. Very much wish him well wherever he goes in future.

I think you'll find the fringe players starting over the next four games. There's no way Wilder's going to leave them in the shadows.

I think there are several players that are definitely leaving us at the end of the season.

Scougall - a few decent performances this season. Good first season at the club but unfortunately isn't good enough. May move to another league 1 team but I reckon he will go back to Scotland.

Mcnulty - will be happy to see him leave from what has been reported he has a poor attitude and he isn't good enough. Will probably go back to Scotland.

Wilson - has been there as backup. Hasn't been used as much as I thought he would have been. I believe we currently have better options and will strengthen in the summer.

Done - personally I thought he contributed a lot at the start of the season. Maybe not with goals or assists but his running and work rate cannot be questioned. Good servant for the club but I think we have better options now. Could see him going back to Rochdale.

Hussey - not good enough thankfully CW didn't stick by his signing and replaced him.

Brayford - money could be spent better elsewhere. Will probably go to Burton permanently

Reed - seems to have been around the club forever and whenever he has had the chance to play I don't think he has impressed enough. Talks of Middlesborough wanting him. I would be happy for him to be moved on.

Long - I think he's been okay. Stepped up at a young age to replace Howard and was an improvement however I don't think he's good enough backup for Moore.

EEL - will probably go back to Wolves and I can't see us looking to loan/sign perminentlantly for next season

Riley - on loan not seen much of the lad. Seemed like quite a decent signing unfortunately injury hasnt helped him.I could see us signing him next season.

Chapman- on loan again not seen too much from him but from his odd appearance looked promising. I think it depends on which division Middlesborough are in next season whether we see him come back next season.

Up until the last couple of games I thought Clarke was nailed on to be leaving but having grabbed a couple of goals in the last couple of games and he seems to have a passion for the club which I had doubted before. I think he could prove a handy option next season.

Unless I am forgetting someone this is what we have left

Goalkeepers
Moore

Defenders
Freeman
Lafferty
Wright
JOC
Basham

Midfielders
Coutts
Fleck
Carruthers
O'shea
Duffy

Attackers
Sharp
Clarke
Hanson
Lavery

From that list providing we are sticking with 3-5-2 I think we need
1x GK
1x LB
1x RB
2x CB
1x defensive midfielder
1x ST
Plus 1 or 2 pacey wide players in order to allow shape changes.

I think we are in for a busy summer but I have trust in the management team that they will get it right. UTB

Having read chapmans tweet, I wonder if he's letting something slip?. The smoggies are coming back down so he's got a choice!!. I think we'd be the better option for him!.

I had a hug with a few of the players round the tunnel after the game including mcnuts. He was genuinely delighted and was beaming from ear to ear. Good luck to him wherever he goes

Hussey and Wilson are two interesting ones both left the team around the same time. But Wilson seems to have remained a part of the group and seems to be content too where as Hussey has just vanished, even heard Wilder have a pop at him on an interview a few weeks back.

Saw a Wilson in the dressing room celebration photo but no sign of Hussey
