Not purely on Fridays performance but in general I believe we require;

Another creative midfielder- Duffy didn't have his best game Friday but he was also closed down very well. Obviously Wilder doesn't think he's capable of playing to a certain standard for 90min as shown by his substitutions but with Carruthers not making the step up who covers or even helps out Duffy?

Holmes 100% fills that void.
Creative, nimble, great touch, very good eye for goal, great crosser and a set piece specialist.

We lack consistent set piece delivery.
Holmes?

We lack quality width at times. Enda, George and of course JOC bomb on and overlap but its just not a consistent enough end product.
Holmes? Freeman?

We lack a bite in midfield.
Lunny is a big lad but for all his attributes I don't think he's a ball winner. Fleck hustled and bustledin the derby but if Fleck is our Scholes then we need a Roy Keane.
Leonard? L Evans?

Long range efforts. We make the space, our passes open up chances at the edge of the box but we try low percentage through balls too much instead of getting a shot off.
The answer, Leonard?Ched?Holmes?

We lack a player with pace, a trick directness and an eye for goal.
Can you imagine if we kept hold of a £10 million rated one of those!?

Goals from midfield. It's quite simple. I'm a massive Duffy and Fleck fans but 1 goal each this season really isn't contributing enough. Will Brooks? Leonard and Holmes make up for that?

We don't lack goals up top but like uncle Neil once told us "you can't have too many strikers"
Will Wilson or Ched get to double figures?

I like Moore, I really like how our back 3 is starting to settle, we have a strong midfield still and a few options up top but we are still light in areas
- but without answering all my own questions...
Basically, I think we have almost covered all my major concerns with the players that are about to return/come in!

We've covered them with L1 additions, maybe good enough, maybe not. I expected more ambition from the owners.

Enda will consistently play poor whilst he has no one fighting for his spot. His final ball is pathetic as of late. For me Nathan thomas deserves a proper chance. Yes played 2 times and scored twice. The first time starting at lwb. But for some reason wilder doesn't like him. Makes you wonder why he was bought

We’ve covered everything possible that we could do.

In the summer I just want us to bring in 3/4 players.

1 first team keeper (if someone is significantly better than Moore)
1 LWB to compete with Stevens
1 first team defender
1 first team striker

The last 2 will be exspensive.

Given up on promotion?

Sorry matey, not having a dig at all but it's something that's brought up a fair bit. All the so-called big money signings once started life at League 1 and lower, and we're going in for team's League 1 players of the season, not necessarily squad fillers. I'm very happy with our additions, and i think a lot of the big money players are often not up to their billing (see across the city for proof).

When i saw What we will bring in VS what we lack

I thought you meant victoria secret for a minute as there is alot from there. id like to bring in

Great OP by the way but the only way we’ll truly know is when they’ve bedded in and shown us what they can do.

My initial reaction is relatively pleased, although we could do with someone to push Stevens performance levels back up to what they were near the start of the season because it’s quite clear Wilder doesn’t fancy Lafferty this season.

I can answer one of your questions....

Will Ched get to double figures?

No.

No.

The fact is that no one knows how well Ched will do once fully fit, but I really don't get the negativity around him, I genuinely think some United fans would love him to fail.

Personally, I don't think I have ever wanted a player to succeed, more than I do the 2nd chance Ched

You can't accuse us of panic buying. Apart from Wilson we've been in for all our signings for well over 6 months

I like that - Id hope Wilder already has an excellent idea of how they fit

In terms of ambition I'm genuinely unsure what other players we should target?? We have no overseas links so those signings are unlikely. Players from Champ and PL are silly money. I'm happy with what we've spent. It's more than I expected

I’d like him to be a success also but I don’t see him starting anytime soon. Clarke, Donaldson, Sharp and Wilson are all in front of him at the moment.

Just not sure we've added enough pace.

Apart from that, we've got what we need.
I think we were in agreement that getting Kent would have been ideal, unfortunately it seemed like it was him OR Brooks.

Such as the 'ambition' shown over in S6 (that lot currently in 17th position)? We'll never compete with the 'big boys' in the Championship, teams with rich owners or a recent spell & parachute payments from the PL. But as that shower of shite in South Barnsley have shown, it's easy to have more money than sense. Our board have shown ambition in not selling Brooks in the JTW (so far...) Lack of ambition is something that is constantly levelled at chairmen. Even Liverpool consistently flog their best players. And how would we fund, say, a £10m transfer? Higher ticket prices? Once again, the S6 hillbillies have ended up with the worst of all worlds. Good.

I'll trust Wilder to continue finding good, lower-league players. It won't always work out - Carruthers etc. - but the majority are good value. Both Bassett and Warnock had the ability to turn a sows ear into silk (well, satin) purse.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight...

Nobody expected another keeper this January did they? Long term maybe, if we went up almost defiantly but from a january transfer window standpoint we have strengthened in pretty much all the areas I had down as a priority.

I'm sure the odd fan does want him to fail for their own reasons, but I'm sure the majority of others are like me in that it seemed a poor decision at the time and he just isn't going to be a further waste of money. Bringing him back was the wrong decision, it brought back the negative attention, was a huge risk which offered us a very unlikely return, cost us money and took our attention and budget away from signing the forward we needed. This has now been proven out and we need to move on.
Of course if by some miracle he comes back at some point and scores a lot of goals then great, I just do not believe there is anyway he's going to be a great player for us. He would have to come back at a higher level than he's ever delivered at before, despite his injuries and time out of the game.

So far in this window we seem to be bringing in exactly what we need, and I think another couple will be coming in soon to patch up other areas. I agree about the full backs need competition but bringing in 6-7 players isn't sensible mid season. This surely must be one of our most positive January transfer windows in a long long time, although obviously some will try and protest the opposite and point fingers at the board.

We should have got Rhodes, Reach and John Terry.

That would have shown real ambition from our board.

Oh,.......and it would have weakened our team too.
