What was your coldest United match that you have been to

One of my coldest matches was actually the away game at Burnley where Lee Baxter made his name! I got a dreadful soaking on my way to the game and then sat shivering all afternoon in the cold breeze as the drama unfolded. Crap day all round.

To contextualise, this was the table the day before game 1 (against Watford) of that run:

and this was it after game 8

An 11 point lead whittled down to 4, and having played a game more. Thankfully Leeds had just entered their own slump in form, a sequence of 8 games without a win and lost the game in hand they had 3 days later at Home to Palace. Game 7 in that sequence was the 1-1 draw with Reading that confirmed our promotion.
A particular memory of that run was a shocker of a performance at Cov, with a completely immobile Gary Flitcroft barely leaving the centre circle

Don’t know of a specific one but fond memories what seems like every night match in the mid 90s as a chabby, wearing 2 pairs of trousers 2 pairs of socks, multiple tops under a coat as well as hat, gloves and a scarf numb arse from the cold wooden seats of the south stand then me old man would take me and my frozen toes home to where my mam had my pyjamas warming up on the fire guard.

Lovely stuff

Saints away, Dec 2005, we won 1-0. I remember Danny Webber playing. -10 degrees. Very unusual weather for the south coast. Got in a fight with a Paddy Saints fan for singing Jingle Bells....in a pub called The Avenue, just off London Rd.
This is mine too. Think Shipperley scored against one of his former clubs.

I was at Mansfield. I was also at Reading away about 6 years ago, and at both Palace away and QPR away also mentioned in this thread.

I seem to be a curse.

West Brom away the other Sunday wasn't pleasant, but maybe I'm just getting old!! It was colder inside the ground than outside, with the wind just whipping round.

I second that. I left at HT cos I was too cold! That’s a first for me
It was fkg Baltic in the Lane Upper that day 🥶🥶🥶
I remember running out of the changing rooms up at Stocks bridge on a Sunday morning away game. It was horizontal hail. Everyone just turned round and sprinted back inside.

I remember a lad going off the pitch in tears because it was so cold. No idea of the score or anything but I do have memories of the wind being ridiculous and causing genuine pain 😂
Had the same up at Worral in a Cup game .. horizontal sleet & a wind chill that would haven’t been out of place on a North Sea trawler ! Nobody actually gave a fk about the result & we even binned HT off just to get it over with quicker ..it’s the quickest I’ve seen 22 blokes vacate a football pitch at the end 🤣

carlisle away in league one I can't remember the date but the score board sponsored by Eddie Stobart on the standing only stand was empty
but ir were really cold!!!

Wigan away for me
February 1984.
We were on a mudbank,it snowed and we lost 3-0

Only one that springs to mind is a midweek night game at Crewe. A couple of decades ago now I reckon, but which exact game I’m unsure of?

Anyway the rain was coming sideways into the stands and literally felt like shards of ice as it hit the face. My hands and feet were like blocks of ice and my chest hurt from the cold air.

An unlikely southern place this, but Watford away in FA Cup 3rd round 1985. My bones ached getting back on the train into London. And we were absolutely spanked 5-0 by a team containing John Barnes and Luther Blissett.

Incredible. I've forgotten just how good Reading were that season. It really was just us being chased. But to be 32 points clear of 7th and 16 of 2nd is sensational.
Still think we should have beat them when we lost 2-1 in October though. How Gillespie didn't get a penalty is still beyond. Only Scougall's gbh at bradford was worse.

Just seen this on You Tube with no back story

Gillingham away end?
Looks like an NFL game, maybe Buffalo where they had snow this weekend or last year,at last years game fans had to take their own spades to dig their seats out,we’re talking about coldest game we’ve been to,the chiefs vs dolphins game last year the temp was -20c(wind chill-27),fans taken to hospital with hypothermia, some lost fingers and toes due to frostbite, saw a video of someone getting a bottle of water out a chill cabinet on the concourse and it freezes in a couple of seconds

Its the Bills game from 7 years ago against the Colts

Leases End at Newcastle before St James park was developed. Me and my lad drank more bovril than you can imagine in an attempt to get warm.

1993 or 94, I played junior Sunday league. One of my mates also played on a Saturday and invited me to play for their team up at Tapton school. It was already snowing when I got picked up but for some reason I left the house in football kit and a thin training top. His dad drove us to Tapton, by which point it was a blizzard. As the new guy I was sub so had to stand there for nearly the whole match. Came on for the last 5 mins but was so cold and mentally shot by that point I was useless.

I was 13 or 14 and have never been so cold in my life. I nearly openly cried in front of future team mates, which at that age is a no no. 30 years on and it still haunts me.
I’d blame your parents.
