It was news to me too Bob, but as Highbury said, it came out after the Villa game as Ward took that pen for sentimental reasons. Fair play to Ched for letting him, but I agree with Highbury, if we have a nominated penalty taker, then he takes pens until informed otherwise.
Perhaps Hendo is the pen taker, but he's out for a bit yet, so looks like Ched will remain.
I don't think Ched has Big Club Syndrome, I think he lacks a lot of confidence and needs a manager to have faith in him. Its showing now that this works.
I think the big thing is fans perception, cost or where he's come from is largely irrelevant to us fans when he puts on the red and white, although initially we all look at pedigree.
We can make a great comparison between Ched and Ward. We spent 300k on Ward from lower league Chesterfield, he had a pedigree from Villa, but had dropped down the leagues and for a while looked great, we fogave some mistakes because he was cheap. He's been a fans favourite ever since he arrived.
Ched came from Man City, with a big price tag, the fans perception was that he was going to start scoring hatfuls and based on his loan at Norwich, he should've been able to with us too. He didn't, had an absolute stinker last season and has been tarred with the waste of money tag ever since.
Compare and contrast the two players since Adams has taken over, the fans favourite, Ward is not performing like the player many think he is!
