Chedwyn's been blessed with the big club syndrome, the one whereby fans think he has more ability than he really has because of where he came from.
If we'd spent £3m on a player from Barnet with the same scoring record and level of performance the reaction would have been completely different.
It's good he's decided to try a bit harder and is playing a bit better.
But pound-for-pound, still not remotely near worth the outlay.

Perhaps not len, but he's doing what he's paid to do at the moment. 1 in 3 is good going in a side 4th from bottom.

Seems to have been a visible shift in his attitude. In earlier interviews, he looks shy and almost scared. In the latest one he's showing fight..."battered them". Nice one whoever's installed that in him!

Is he? Is that official because for whatever reason Ward took it against Villa and Hendo took them last season.

It was news to me too Bob, but as Highbury said, it came out after the Villa game as Ward took that pen for sentimental reasons. Fair play to Ched for letting him, but I agree with Highbury, if we have a nominated penalty taker, then he takes pens until informed otherwise.

Perhaps Hendo is the pen taker, but he's out for a bit yet, so looks like Ched will remain.

I don't think Ched has Big Club Syndrome, I think he lacks a lot of confidence and needs a manager to have faith in him. Its showing now that this works.

I think the big thing is fans perception, cost or where he's come from is largely irrelevant to us fans when he puts on the red and white, although initially we all look at pedigree.

We can make a great comparison between Ched and Ward. We spent 300k on Ward from lower league Chesterfield, he had a pedigree from Villa, but had dropped down the leagues and for a while looked great, we fogave some mistakes because he was cheap. He's been a fans favourite ever since he arrived.

Ched came from Man City, with a big price tag, the fans perception was that he was going to start scoring hatfuls and based on his loan at Norwich, he should've been able to with us too. He didn't, had an absolute stinker last season and has been tarred with the waste of money tag ever since.

Compare and contrast the two players since Adams has taken over, the fans favourite, Ward is not performing like the player many think he is!

He was only a one in 3 striker for Norwich while he was there.

looked on sat like he'd grown some bollocks

He took one against Burnley, but that doen't necessarily mean he will be the regular penalty taker.

Anyway, we have to get awarded penalties in order to have a regular penalty taker!

You misunderstand me Swiss.
The big club syndrome is the fans' perception of him. Particularly last season when fans continually saw things that weren't there on the basis that he's come from Man City and therefore must be good.

Apologies Lenners, I misread your post ... I actually ended up agreeing with you without knowing it :)
