  • Being able to shout in public and not get told off for it
  • Sitting with my grown up son for nearly 2 hours and having lots in common to talk about
  • Seeing people that I only ever see at the game and haven't seen for 18 months - and hoping that the old chap who has sat next to us for many years is still well enough to attend
  • Memories of going to games with my dad - I always feel so close to him there, it was "our time", just like it is with my son now

And they say that it's only a game......

Getting to the top of the Kop steps and seeing the whole expanse of the Lane in front of me.

Gutted that I can't go on Saturday, family weekend in the piss rain to Whitby with the pig-supporting in laws so will most likely be watching on my phone unless they can be coaxed to the pub.

That view always gets a "wow" on my buzzometer too. Sorry you can't make it but Whitby is not a bad consolation.

A pre match chip butty, haunting my usual haunts.

That lingering stench of the beer fart from the bloke who sits near me…
