What has Donovan done wrong?

[HOT CURRIE 10]

Baffling again,Chong gave the ball away 5 times in the 1st half against Lincoln in dangerous areas, still Wilder and co persist. Donovan is a threat,an outlet, keeps opponents penned back and we are wasting him, these decisions the management keep making is lower end Sunday league level.

[Thrice]

It's JRS all over again. He always looked like a threat and then Wilder brought BBD back and that was that.

[Slim Man]

I'm not a wilder out campaigner but even I find it baffling he is now never starting.

He's got quality unpredictability and pace and trickery. I could live with him being in and out. But he's just being benched all the time is utterly baffling. Especially when BBD isn't pulling any trees up.

BBD is not just 'not pulling any trees up' - he's been shite

Depends.
If your job was to pull trees up then that is your answer.

In this instance his job is to be a attacking creative outlet. He did make an assist Vs Lincoln. But not gonna say that he was good.

He's better down the middle up top anyway.

[Large Mendonca]

I don’t think Wilder is overly impressed with Donavon, for whatever reason - just a hunch…….

[3Cheers4Ramirez]

BBD is finished at this level now

But that won't stop him squeezing out another season or two there with Sheffield United

Well I'm not overly impressed with Wilder so I guess we're at an impasse

Against Lincoln he was excellent. You are talking shite.

BBD was terrible against Pompey

He was 'excellent' against the worst team in the league? Ok sure. No one was excellent in that game apart from Bamford.

Did you watch him against Pompey?

BBD hasn't had a 'great' game for us since we were the whipping boys in the Prem and he was a bit of a shimmer of light.

Me neither alately

Let’s hope he has a good game today. The squad is paper thin but slagging them off before a ball is kicked is such a poor way to support.

Don't forget, we stole him away from a loan at Derby who look like competition for relegation, we could have made a rival weaker but culture etc...

Don't forget us 'nicking' Choudhury from them as well

He isn't...

[Matlock Blade]

BBD was an excellent signing. Not for his talent, but because he loves the gaffer and gets the culture of the Blades.

[Blade In Flame]

To answer the original post “Intergalactic Laxative” was pretty bad

I'm more of a Bert Jansch man myself but he can't even get on the bench.

[Hamer's Right Peg]

Big 3pts especially after being robbed mid week

[Chief_Froley]

Excellent running in his cameo today. Him and Bamford had some really good hold up play on the left hand side as well to see the game out.

[Jan Age]

He’s absolutely wonderful … I love watching him … skill and application in equal measure

[Peaktrade]

Played well when he came on
Showed skill
Held up the ball well
Back on bench next game, son

[Iceybabey]

I understand the call for the lad to start but I also understand why Wilder's wanting to use the more experienced Chong whilst we try and turn a corner and move in the right direction.

The way Donovan was used today was spot on and in essence it's an easier role to do- carry the ball, relieve pressure, win fouls high up and potentially create a moment to kill it, which he nearly did but One skied it.

I think he needed resting , he wasnt brill before hand , so it was the right decision , it definitely had an effect on him to prove himself he was fantastic

[ISZA ⚔️]

Unreal today when he came on.

It seems weird watching one of our players who can actually run with some pace.
