One day we will win a play off final and in doing so actually score a goal in one !!
We will

and I think this is the year

and before all the smart arses ask ‘where’s your evidence to back this claim up’ - well I bloody dont have any

I just think it

I think sacking Slav and getting Wilder back may not be too far off the mark
I don’t think this should happen

but this is Utd and it could I suppose

but probably not to be honest

but who knows

it could - I guess - but would it be the right thing to do

oh I don’t know

I’m going to Oakwell , wherever that is

I have been a bit worried for a while this season, especially when our best player was/is a loan player..... :tumbleweed: ,
But then I've always considered The Blades board to be happy with top half Championship and unwilling to pay Premier league prices and wages for players.

That was until our last couple of seasons up there, and after seeing the results of us doing just that for a couple of seasons I'm beginning to come round to their point of view......

Look, after 48 years watching United, seasons like this are very much par for the course. Successful seasons for this club stand out like sweetcorn on a pile of shit. But we all still turn up to watch this enigma that is SUFC.
Putting things into perspective...My match days have been ruined by the Cremourne not selling Moretti anymore.

Smelling mistake aside, the CremOrne has stopped being the best place in Sheffield for a pint of Kelham Best and they have managed to ruin the normally reliable, Daily Bread.

Some questions in the House about a possible pub change...

I see us becoming a Middlesbrough type club, hovering above mid-table, maybe flirting with the play-offs. Starting to accept the idea now. Seems a long time since we were flirting with Europe and thought the signing of Sander Berge would take us to the next level.

Financial meltdown?

genuinely worried about the outcome of this season.

How exactly have you come to this conclusion when we spent nowhere near the TV money we got from the PL on players, and parachute money will cover wages?

Used to love the Crem, but since lockdown it’s not quite the same...But still glad it’s managed to survive the last 19 months though.

We've been a (upper?) mid-table Championship team on average since the 80's. I'm ok with that too.

Erm...smelling mistake?

straight jackets all-round if they take it. He must be on well over a million per year.

On the assumption that Moose is fit at the time we option to trigger the option, what better forwards can we get for the cost of another season of Moose's wages?

The reality is we're not good enough to get promoted and we have to stick with this squad until January, which is slightly concerning to say the least. It's a hard pill to swallow that our best player so far this season MGW is not even ours and could disappear in January.
The last window was a debacle, what with printers not working and work permit issues.. WTF was going on there, Sunday league recruitment.
If the next window is conducted in the same amateurish fashion, god forbid where we could end up. It will be a real test for PA because if he and the recruitment team fuck this up supporters will begin to ask questions and rightly so.
However I think we have been unlucky on quite a few occasions and the officials have robbed us blind.
Let’s home we're not as skint as it appears we are.

When has Moose been fit in his time at the club?

People keep saying this and yet when has he been fit and useful for more than a handful of games? For us or Bournemouth.

Pretty sure we can pick up a better value for money striker on a free wirh lower wages.

This multimillionaire can't even manage 90 minutes.

Not sure what people expected the outcome of last season to be. We were in total free fall, players being picked despite clearly not giving a stuff and others who were simply not performing. Injuries to key players etc.
We appoint a proven manager who is taking his time and has clearly made his mind up about certain players who have no future under him - thank goodness.
I didn’t see the window as hopeless, the loanees were brought in to stop a second relegation and give us some short term options whilst Slav took stock. My reading is that the conversation probably went along the lines of “Well PA, I’ve walked into a shit show but I believe I can sort it -given time. Don’t piss any more money up the wall on panic buys, give me two seasons with the ability to clear out who I don’t want after the first season and rebuild a team that can get promoted with a decent chance of staying up”.
Promotion this season won’t happen imho but, if by some fluke it did, we’d be an embarrassment.
The parachute payments are giving us breathing space and the indication is that we’re using them wisely. Promotion next season? maybe, but I’m looking at the following season for us to really rip it. Of course, if the summer sees Burke, McB, Brewster and Mousse still here, my theory will be proven to be bollocks!

You're hanging your hat on us getting promoted in 2024? Crikey.

Hi Stegosaurus here

Merger with Wednesday is the only way to save both clubs.
and Rotherham, Barnsley and Donny to create . . . .

South Yorkshire Super Soccer to play at an out of town super stadium near the former Manvers Main plant.

Just think of those riches in tv rights . .. . .

(The owners getting rich on the sale of the grounds for housing or in the case of Hillsborough re-wilding. Boars could be a possibility).

We instead took Sander to the next level...Down

We are exactly back where we were in 2007/2008 with Bryan Robson (but with a better manager) we know what happens next

Quite a bit above the zero some are promoting . In that list some are under valued as well as over valued

I never valued it at 0, I just disagree with Transfermarkt's valuations of £124m. For a start there's £13m off for players that aren't ours.

From the list who do you feel is under / over valued, personally I can only see Ndiaye as under valued:

Verrips - 900K - 500K
Foderigham - 400K - 400K
Eastwood - 100K - 100K
Egan - 9m - 6m
Basham - 2m - 0 - Final Year
O’Connell - 5m - 0
Stevens - 3.5m - 1m
Robinson - 2m - 0 - Final Year
RND - 1.5m - 2m
Bogle - 7m - 5m
Baldock - 5m - 0 - Final Year
Berge - 18m - 12m
Fleck - 5m - 2m
Norwood - 5m - 1.5m
Guedioura - 400K - 0 - Final Year
Osborne - 2m - 0 - Final Year
Freeman - 2m - 0 - Final Year
Ndiaye - 200K - 5m
Brewster - 10m - 8m
McBurnie - 10m - 8m
Mousset - 9m - 0 - Final Year
Burke - 6m - 1m
McGoldrick - 1.5m - 0 - Final Year
Sharp - 500k - 0 - Final Year

The first value is Transfermarkt's valuation, then what I think the value is, and some of those I've had to force myself to put (still shaking my head at valuing Brewster and McBurnie at £8m and £12m for Berge). Based on the above I'd say the squad value is £50m - £60m

What do you think?

depending on whose buying anything from 45 to 70 but a long way from being in poverty like them owls whose squads worth 10m green shield stamps

So Transfermarkt wasn't being conservsative at all then, in fact quite the popposite?

Erm, what's it got to do with them lot?? 🤷‍♂️

well like you said it added the loanees which was in error
but it also gave some as no value
but its all subjective,
mings still looks 25 m short of his value to me

When has Moose been fit in his time at the club?

Pretty sure we can pick up a better value for money striker on a free wirh lower wages.

Point one is a big assumption, I know. Point two, really? Ignoring the fact that Moose is not on enormous wages, relatively speaking, which players do you think will be cheaper, given that a huge perk as the player to running down a contract is to be able to demand higher wages for the same total cost of ownership as the club does not have to pay a transfer fee.

If we were to clone Sharp and make him five years younger, how much would we spend to pick him up off the street and give him, say, a two year contract?

Fans will throw hissy fits, blame the Prince, blame Slav, blame Fleck, Norwood, and a host of other scapegoats, and demand Wilder back.
