What do people expect?

At the final whistle against Portsmouth today some near us were booing with Foxy overhearing the comment "I knew we would lose when Monty was playing".

Now correct me if I'm wrong but we have just drawn against a top 6 side......yes it's dissapointing when we could have perhaps had all 3 after a defensive cock-up.

Last league home match we won against Arsenal too.

Now can anyone honestly say they wouldn't have been happy with 4 points out of those matches??

I thought attacking-wise we looked a real threat in the first half but we looked poor in the second half - resorting to seeing how high we could kick it.
Having said that, I thought Pompey were one of the poorest and most toothless sides I've seen at the Lane this season. Very similar to Man City in that they rarely posed a threat.

It does go to show that apart from the top 4 and bottom 2 teams there's really not a lot to choose between the rest.

I didnt either although having seen us dominant most the game and we end up with nearly fuck all due to complete cock up. So it dosnt surprise me fans are pissed off. We should be finishing teams off and thats something we never seem to do. We sit on a 1 goal lead and defend deep. Yes it is Pompey who are having a stormer of a season but to give them a crappy goal like that is disgraceful. Pompey didnt really impress me today despite there high place in the league and we should of taken advantage of that. I just hope we can bring a few more players in coz i certainly think we need them.

I thought that Pompy were there for the beating today but we slipped into old habits in the second half and the pressure eventually told.

We need to win games like that, especially at home.

Still, results went our way and there were some very encouraging performances. I would have taken a point at the start of play so i'm sure tomorrow i will see that as a good point gained.

Playing like what ? playing good 1st half getting a goal and sitting on a 1 goal lead. Then defend that deep that a defender and a goalkeeper cant even communicate properly. The pompey game is one of rather a few games we should of and could of killed off. We wont stay in this league if we cant finish of games we dominate in. At the moment we are just lucky the teams below us are doing shite. Your right we do play really well at times i just cant see any reason though why we cant do it for 90mins. Just checking as it was what i was putting across in the post with the oh so subtle hint of sarcasm We all hear it, and it's not just restricted to our club. I guess it's the nature of the supporter in general. knows all, sees all, hears all and does fook all (but moan) I have some people sit next to me that are great to have a chat with but expect the world from the Blades and will swear that black is white when they get worked up.

Other teams see how you are playing and change their tactics accordingly.

It's why you see so many "games of 2 halves".

It's ok sometimes to say that the other team played a little better, caused us problems and deserved the points they got.

Unless you can do that I'd suggest The Blades are not the team to watch.

I can fully understand people referring to the game as a loss because we did lose. We lost 2 points. Pompey never really looked like scoring except from a couple of long range efforts and the Cole dig at the near post.

One thing that does concern me is what some people are referring to as "not being able to kill a game off". We haven't had a 2 goal lead this season. Will the thought police let me be concerned about that fact?
