What are you looking forward to/hoping for most in the Championship next season?

all this 'one game at a time', 'we're not there yet', ''if anyone could fuck it up' blah blah blah. It's a touch tiresome, why can't we appreciate that we have a side that is far and away the best in the division and manager is definitely as well. There are some old sods on this forum

What has age got to do with an appreciation that we haven't achieved a single thing yet?
The pigs are renowned for cocky bollox and we hate them for it yet somehow its fine when we do it?
Nah.
I hate presumption.
Yes we are having an outstanding season, playing great football and are top of the league. IF we win the league I will be as ecstatic as anyone. Till then I prefer to STFU bragging and boasting and planning on spending money we haven't even got yet.
They say empty vessels make most noise and I would prefer it if we left that to the pigs.

Right manager, right players, right attitude and a bit of investment and I'll be looking forward most to promotion to the Prem. No reason why not. We've done it before and can do it again - especially with this manager in charge.

And if we don't I won't be disappointed, because disappointment is always correlated with expectation and not many will expect us to do that - but I believe it's entirely possible.

And the thread is about what we are hoping for.

I'd take losing to Wednesday in both games for that.

No just sensible . All the above comments , one game at a time etc etc will be said by Wilder and Knill.

We are not there yet . Close but not close enough ,mbut in a very good position.

Let's not be giddy or over confident .

3 points for a win , 1 point for a draw and the landscape can soon change either way.

For me it's:
Beating Wednesday home and away and finishing above them to re-establish our superiority.
Decent TV coverage (SKY, highlight programmes etc)
A better BDTBL atmosphere due to less expectation and more away fans.
Some of these posts make my skin crawl.
Didn't go on Saturday but did several away matches recently but from what I heard on Saturday the crowd was like a library until the last 10 minutes. If from our remaining matches some fans turn up at BDTBL expecting to just sit back and think its like watching a cozy film with a coke and a straw in a polystyrene cup and bucket of pop corn and hoping all will go well with no involvement then things might not turn out so well. Sorry for getting coke fans excited, wrong kind of coke. Need to make it happen at home folks.
I'm just happy we have 4 away from home where there is usually less pressure on the team and more support.

Surprising a lot of teams with the quality of our excellent, proper football.

Even bigger crowds.

Demonstrating that we're massive.

Knowing we're a club on a definite upward curve.

Not looking forward to the nerve-wracking tension. I could well lose my voi

If and I say IF we get there I want surround electronic advertising boards and....
  • Slippers under my
  • padded reclining seat
  • Heated body suit
  • Promotion to PL
  • 2x 5-0 home and 0-5 away results against the filthy pigs

......we haven't achieved a single thing yet?
I don't know....
  • Fans no longer split
  • McCabe not the center of attention
  • Forum trolls disappeared
  • Got me interested in going to the match again
  • Getting shut of Adkin's and hiring Wilder
  • American foozball culture failed
  • Not a single journeyman stealing a wage
  • Top of the league all year
  • Atmosphere returning
  • Crowds returning
I think we've achieved quite a lot. Promotion and a freeze on season ticket prices if it happens will be a reight bonus.

Agree Cerberus no pressure next season we can really kick on,right
kind of strengthening and it's possible.
Our fans will soon be raising there
expectancy level ( as pigs have found to there cost) so next season is an opportunity to strike while the pressure is off ( Bassett style) we have of course to finish the job this season first. I do Beleave we have the foundations of a team capable of having a go,over too you Messrs
Wilder, Knill and the owners

I'm looking forward to the promised cash of course. I am looking forward to it being wisely spent on areas of the team which will be exposed to better attack and midfield and thereafter our steady five or six year building up to a possibly promotion push for the top flight.

Eh?

McCabe has already said that the cash will go on the pitch upgrade to 'Desso II - the next generation'.

I guess CW will be able to do a bit of wheeler dealing with the £50k that will be left over.

Looking back at this thread and thinking "this would make pretty painful reading now if we hadn't gone up".

Winning away at Villa.

Where I live is all Villa. My mate is local supporters club committee man, organises coaches, not missed a game home or away for years, Villa tattoo - so a real part-timer!

I'll go with him in the home end, perfectly safe cos he's a real hard man - and I'll give them some real crap when we win!

A bit of respect returned I think ..The Championship , is not the Premier League , but it is respectable , lots of quality Clubs found there , Derby , Forest , Newcastle , Leeds , Villa , Birmingham , Wolves , Sheffield Wednesday (sorry ) , Norwich .....

Division 3 (League 1) is never respectable , its a fall from grace for a club like Sheffield United ...a fucking embarrassment , to be slightly blunt .

I hope I never see Derby there again , in my lifetime , I hope i never see Sheffield United there , ever again either

Looking forward to the much banded around Liverpool Style investment........which probably means buying crap Chinese and Australian football clubs, hotels, bars, restaurants and anything else 'off field related'........ and hiring Bryan Robson as Manager.

Not getting relegated and hammering Wednesday. I don't mean 1 or 2-0, I mean beating them like you'd beat a ginger stepchild. Thrashing the fuckers. Putting them firmly back in their place, and finally shutting their polyester-clad legions of deluded fucknuggets well and truly up.
