Can somebody please clear this up for me because with how I am feeling I may just spontaneouly combust in rage, but why have they sacked Micky Adams? He's a manager with experience in the lower leagues and he hasn't been given enough time to make the team his own. McCabe is about as intelligent as a god damn toaster.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I know exactly how you are feeling B4E

At least it's not three games into the new season - that's the major saving grace for me.

I'd have liked to have seen him given a full close-season and a full season to see what he could achieve. His replacement had better be damn bloody good!

To be honest I think now is the worst time to sack him. when were trying to save money! How much is it going to cost to break his contract and then sign somebody else. Absolute amateurs!!!

Certainly. Have a look at the league table, have a look at his signings and think about his ugly, pre-historic style of management. Hope that helps.

Now, where's my beer.

Completely agree, how thick can a millionaire actually be?
Not only does he sack the only manager who is likely to actually give a crap about our club, but he also will have had to pay off the rest of his contract... yet more money down the shitter we don’t have

Who the hell is going to sort this shit out now? No decent players (of any experience), no money for wages or transfers, and idiot of a chairmen to "back them" ( in quotes due to the sheer amount of managers we have gone through) , and a fanbase who is fed up to the breaking point of the shit on display of which we pay for

What a complete feck up ... useless :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Think there was a clause in his contract saying minimal compensation if we were relegated.

Micky, leave Port Vale, come and manage the Blades, if we go down we will sack you and pay you nowt

I dont fink so

I reckon 4/27 is the only answer anyone needs as to why he's gone.

I really don't understand why they've sacked him now. Even if you don't like him, the timing makes no sense.

Hopefully you've not rested it on one of the napkins in Birch's office promising investment, they might not count if you smudge it

Tend to agree with the original post, think it's a pretty poor decision on McCabes part to sack Adams. You just can't keep on sacking managers every few months.

The main reason we have gone down is the mis-management of the club at boardroom level over the last few years. This latest decision just highlights that.

he won 1 6th of his game - if i performed for only 1 6th of my time at work, that would be reason for dismissal. football managers arent untouchable, he hasnt done what he was hired to do. we didnt hire him with league one in mind, so why bloody keep him, the blokes a joke, blade or not he's one of the most uninspiring managers weve had in a long time atleast blacky and warnock got them up for it, adams couldnt even do that when we needed him too.

Would you try and build a shed with a glass hammer?

We needed instant improvement to stave off relegation so we appointed a manger that was thought likely to have an instant impact. A motivator that has had the best interests of the club in heart since he first watched the game.

He didn't make an instant impact, he didn't motivate the team, he didn't "get the ball in the box and cause some mayhem," he won only a fraction of the games needed and most importantly, he wasn't able to motivate the team in the most important games of the season, those against our relegation rivals.

As a result Adams has lost his job.

Instead of waiting to see how we perform after a couple of games of the season we'll have a new manager in early to oversee transfers and preseason training. Clean slate, no relegaton hangovers, no waiting a handfull of games and then missing a transfer window.

I don't like the situation, i don't like relegation but i'm happy that Adams has gone now.

I think sacking Adams is the wrong decision but like many others have probably already stated, the timing has been spot on IMHO. Lets get someone in as soon as we can and give him the summer to bring in a few faces. Hopefully get rid of Collins & Doyle (two shocking signings). I hope we bring in someone with a bit of experience at L1 level so they know what the job is all about.

If we can sack Adams, PLEASE PLEASE can we sack Collins too?

If they were going to sack him (Adams), now is the time.....thats about all I can say.
VERY dissappointed indeed. I thought he could have done us a good job next season. His replacement wil have to be pretty damn good, and whoever that is WELL BACKED BY THE USELESS BOARD!!!

We all know that will not happen, shoestring again.

So do you not think 5 wins in 25 is not mis-management. The players we had were not complete donuts. The club/job was too big for him to cope with. 4th division size clubs are his level. He failed big time to manage the players at this level.

Hmm.....Collins, Nosworthy, Simmo, Taylor, Doyle, ...........

True indeed, but who else was available, who wanted to come, at the money we were offering?

If anyone knows of anyone else please feel free to inform me.

We will never really know the truths of the dealings at BDTBL, but I very much doubt there were better players available due to the constraints that our PLC Chairman put on the recruitment of playing staff.

We needed central defence cover as our mainstays were either injured or on their way to Rangers at the last minute leaving us with naff all (which may have been the better option!!)

We could have of course kept Kyle Bartley and not bothered with Neil Collins. Just a thought.

And we didn't NEED Doyle. It's not a case of who else was available. Youth players would have been better for that position than Doyle.

We managed to find Shane Lowry and Harry Maguire has arguably been better than Collins in his 4 appearances. Matty Lowton performed well at centre half when needed.

The signing of Doyle was equally avoidable. Montgomery and Ertl play in exactly the same place and in a similar way (except neither of those dives into tackles a second after the ball has gone, which seems to be a Doyle speciality!).

Who's to say Bartley WANTED to go? I can only think that signing Collins was a panic buy as Bartley was on his way.

Doyle? Ok fair enough, but at the time I thought he could've been usefull instead of useless.

Adams said afterwards that Bartley left as he felt that Collins had been brought in as number one choice for defence.

As a loan player, there's little point in hanging around to fight for a position.

Well if that IS the truth(and we will never know) then that's disgraceful. It just seems more than coincidence that Bartley went only hours after Collins arrived. Rangers must have shown their interest before the last minute and lets face it, Rangers or The Blades?

It is the truth.

Adams told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We wanted to bring in another centre-half and Kyle felt it would maybe hinder his selection and wanted to leave.
"If people want to leave the club, I'm not going to stand in their way."
