As I can't see anyone else has posted this as a thread. I'm a negative cynical barstool but that's a top result given their away for and league position. Canapés all round.

There's always about 10 identical threads when we lose, but zip when we win.

Credit where credit's due.

Sounds like we did a good job today.

I think it just hurts a bit when they put in performances like that because we wish they had put in those sort of performances earlier in the season.

Never the less a win makes for a good weekend. UTB!

It was probably the most pleasant home game of the season.

No ones happy about that rickington...we just have to break the cycle and think how the fuck get out of this league... we can and we will.

It was a superb performance, and a lovely 2 fingers to the negative 'Blades' who masquerade as fans.

Wahay. Steady on. We have put in enough shit performances this season to enable the club to be effectively out of any promotion push this season to eclipse today's showing.

I said to my buddies - this isn't the Sheffield United I read about and you guys tell me about each weekend. They assured me it wasn't and were similarly pleased with that we did today, which was effectively kill off a supposedly capable opponent when most of us watching expected further misery.

But let's not get carried away, eh? A 'superb' performance sees us whupping the top teams every week by a handsome margin with no goals conceded and us passing the ball about during the later stages. We snuffed out Walsall but spent the last ten watching the clock, hoping they wouldn't get one back (which inevitably leads to two, which it did against Crewe)

I'll happily take your veiled dig if we win the last matches and fluke the playoffs and get promoted. That's some ask and some measure to balance negativity.

Let's not get too carried away, I don't recall us having a shot on target after half time...

Well done you and please accept the " bigger and best Blade of anyone award 2016" you have snatched it from WHF.

Quite right, robbie. An enjoyable afternoon and a reminder of how we should start next season. None of this 'pathways' and 'game of football' bollocks. It's got to be 'Look lads. This League is fucking shite. If we hadn't regularly given points to fucking Crewe or Port Vale, we'd have walked this division, as shite as we've been. Now get out there and don't come back without 3 points. Cunts'.

I thought the first half was very similar to Crewe and expected Walsall to come out for the second half totally fired up. I think they just had a bad day at the office and hope they go on a good run so that - with their two games in hand - they can push Burton into the play-offs where Clough will undoubtedly fuck it up.

No truly bad performances from the Blades yesterday, some good moves and a display of what sheer effort and chasing down can achieve.

Not sure about 'Canapés all round' but I was tempted to throw my cap in the air in a jaunty manner...

A result which defied logic, completely against the form book for both clubs. Burton lost and Walsall will be kicking themselves.

As for us, if only.......Walsall are as good as any side in this poor division. Great result but if only we had performed this season to 50% of our potential we would have made the play-offs. At our full potential we should have been promoted automatically. That's football as they say, everything has to be earned.

Excellent result and the best performance for a while now. The players showed a hunger and desire that's been sadly missing. We all know they've got it in there locker somewhere but without wanting to piss on anyone's bonfire it was one game and one performance. We need consistency. Few on here are negative and even fewer 'masquerade' as you put it. It's called having serious concerns and while yesterday put a smile on our faces it certainly can't be a smug one. The table doesn't lie unfortunately. It's not negative. It's realism. Let's hope it's something to build on though.

Great result, and as i was queuing for tickets got offered 3 of those community football tickets for free, saved me £30 odd quid. 2 results in 1 day :)

Burton drew but other than that I agree.
We can beat any side in this division on our day, we just don't have our day anywhere near enough.

This season will go down as a massive missed opportunity from all involved, and the league won't get any easier next year.

Such a waste of potential.

And after Southends fine 2nd half performance against us,they get dismantled at Blackpool,it certainly was there for the taking this season

No one has mentioned the fact that Walsall might have thought all they had to do was turn up and they'd win.

Lets no get carried away until we've been to Chesterfield, that could be three on the bounce, I'm not sure any one is even holding the steering wheel yet as apposed to having turned the corner.

Why is it we don't post as much when we win?

It's generally because when we win people have a tendency to stay out till 4 in the morning and a trip to spearmint rhino. Well that's what I heard anyway
