Speaking of which, this is a great opportunity to get your limited edition mask of the late Lord Justice Griffiths.

Let’s honour the memory of the man that brought the club £20,000,000 by spending £2.00 each to replicate his face with a sea of Justice in the away end on Saturday.

Usual policy – DM me your head size and order number. Proceeds to ‘charity’.

Each purchase automatically enters you into a raffle for some replica Lord Griffiths eyebrows.

I already have the eyebrows. Any other prizes on offer?

Funnily enough, I also have the actual gavel that Lord Justice Griffiths used back in 2009, which I won in a game of chance during the lunch breaks at the Prince/McCabe High Court hearings over the summer. Some might tell you I wasn’t at those hearings. Others might tell you his role wouldn’t necessitate having a personal gavel, and certainly wouldn’t have used on to deliver the results of a 3-person tribunal as happened in the West Ham case. I say you, like the late Lord Justice himself, should use your own judgment...

Fair play to KM for persisting and it paid the Ssntander debt. The other financial benefits were royally wasted on arguably the worst managerial appointment of my lifetime all things considered.

I still think KM would have done better losing the case and appointing a competent manager. More chance of being back in the Prem sharpish without silly wages.

All conjecture now. Good times more likely this time imho.

Think people need to understand the driver behind the appointment. Recruitment isn’t just a random list of the best managers.

At the time McCabe had business interests abroad and will have realised that no one had ever heard of Neil Warnock.
Also In the UK Warnock was type cast as a grumpy complaining long ball merchant. Our reputation was quite low under Warnock.

When we were relegated McCabe decided to “go for it”. It’s ironic that in 2007 was the most ambitious SUFC have ever been but it backfired.
They wanted a manager with a record of success and who was known worldwide, that was media friendly raising our profile.
I believe the 1st choice was the legendary Kenny Dalglish (who refused), 2nd choice was the legendary Robson. Some had doubts about his management but we
brought in the master tactician and highly rated Brian Kidd as assistant to help out forming a very expensive 2 man dream management team.
We also tried to appoint ex England manager Graham Taylor as director of football but he didn’t want to return to football.
These massive names in football demonstrates that McCabe had plans to take us to a whole new level...with sexy big name players and managers.

Robson’s fantastic “Captain Marvel” reputation meant we were able to attract Gary Speed, Gary Cahill, Ugo Egiogue, who all said they only joined because of Robson.
He instantly changed our style from Warnock fast direct physical style to a slow patient keep possession passing style.
We started to control games but it was a bit like watching Italian football, very tactical, slow with little action in either goal mouth...low on entertainment.
Most of our fans didn’t appreciate the new style of passing football and demanded we went more direct, with quicker positive play.
We eventually did go more direct but this seemed to confuse our players, with half playing a slow patient keep possession style and half playing a quicker long ball style. Our style of play fell apart and we started to look clueless, what didn‘t help (actually angered our fans) were the post match interviews by Robson.
He said the same words every interview and often his words had no relation to the match just played, it was as though he’d not even watched the match.
Although Weir was poor, our fans had sympathy towards him, we appreciated his honesty but Robson just seemed clueless and unlikable.

McCabe was looking for overseas investment in 2007.

Imagine setting up meetings with billionaires and telling them we have Neil Warnock or Kevin Blackwell as manager. No one would be impressed.
However in the same meeting if you told potential investors that the manager is Kenny Dalglish or Brian Robson they will be impressed and more likely to be interested.

Odd, as the reality of having Robson as manager didn’t bring forth the fabled investment. In fact any potential investor would have looked at Robson and seen how he was ruining all prospects of any promotion.

Not brave. Guess I've just mellowed over the years. Perhaps I've got some of the facts wrong, or forgotten some, but right now I just want to beat WHU for 3 points not anything to do with Tevez. And certainly dont see WHU fans any different to those of other PL rivals.
Neither do I, but they were responsible. The premier league then fucked up.
