WEST BROM hope to boost their squad for the Premier League with a £2million bid for Sheffield United midfielder Michael Tonge.

The ex-Manchester United youth star has played almost 300 games for the Blades but is still only 25.

Given his recent form I do not understand why any club would be chasing him other than as a bargain buy - certainly not to elevate a Premiership team. Maybe his agent knows something we don't; like incoming. We can hope!

2 million?!?! I'd pay his taxi fare to WBA for that! Was once a decent player but nowadays he just seems to bottle every attack and is woeful with the passing!
