Wes or Davies.

As was wisely raised in the other thread, I think it essentially comes down to measuring hand size.

Davies came with a pretty solid reputation and has played a lot of first team games at this level.

I'm comfortable with him coming in for Wes. Just hope he's not too rusty because he's another who's had a lengthy lay-off with injury and only started making our bench in the last couple of weeks.

As for the question, the answer has to be Wes. He's been a terrific keeper for us.
Davies would have to do something quite special in these next 3 games to hold onto the shirt.

And that has nothing to do with how good Davies is as a keeper except in direct comparison to Foderingham. Your logic would be that Kane would suddenly be a bad striker if he signed for City, because Haaland is better
My logic is that Davies doesn’t play cos he isn’t very good fella. He was Stoke’s third choice keeper 😂

Ridiculous question, we haven't even seen Davies play for us have we!???
It helps to post something sensible if you've read the thread. The whole point is a keeper posted how much better Davies is. The fact he's never played for us was made but apparently that's irrelevant so I thought I'd canvass opinion.

Which again says nothing unless you think at least one of the keepers ahead of him at Stoke are shit

If you’re decent you’re not a third choice keeper at a championship mid table side

Yes, because Wes is better.
Wes kept the shirt because of his performances from last season. Then Davies got injured pre season and hasn’t featured. He’s only just recently been declared fit so there’s nothing as yet to determine which is the better keeper. Davies has his chance now. The balls in his court

He doesn’t have his own judgement, he just goes on the very basic information he can find without trying to add any nuance or intelligent thought.
Following his logic Sala and De Bruyne aren’t up to it because Jose didn’t fancy them and bombed them out. The ultimate irony here being it would also mean Wes shouldn’t have been ever considered good because he was behind Rammers, Verrips and Olsen.

Would like to know what was said or done to Wes to provoke a reaction like that

He was never third choice though was he, Verrips had one game then got fucked off into oblivion 😂
He was, Rammers was first, Verrips was next up then Wes. Clear 3rd choice.
Wes wasn’t on the bench for Birmingham or Swansea. 3rd choice and in your way of thinking therefore must be worse than the other 2 and can’t be considered “decent”.
He came onto the bench for WBA when Rammers was off, came in after Verrips’ horror show and was then dumped back to the bench as soon as Olsen was rushed in, who was shit, but using your logic has to be better than Wes because he’s playing ahead of him.
Wes sat with splinters in his arse until 17 games at which point he got his chance due to Olsen being unavailable. He nailed down the No1 because he actually always was good enough and was actually the better keeper. Coventry will be our 15th league game this season.
Both your arguments, either on Davies having to be being a poorer player simply because he’s been No2 or that no decent keeper could ever be 3rd choice are easily provable nonsense. Just take the loss.
