Wes was great last night! Crowd was singing his name all throughout the second half for those who couldn't hear.
"League One Wes" to the tune of Kumbaya My Lord is hardly effusive praise though, is it?

He did well last night, bar that one moment where he conceded a corner after clearly shouting to Bogle to leave the ball and the standard one-a-game floated ball straight to an unmarked opposition player on halfway.

Have to admit I didn't know the words so I just accompanied with my tambourine and then took the collection afterwards. 😉

I voted for Olsen when the thread was first posted. But two games, two clean sheets and four points, you've got to stick with what's working. Wes will no doubt have a bad game or drop a clanger, but let's stick with him and I hope he can grow into a solid first choice keeper.

Wes at the moment, he's come in, done a good job and has done nothing to justify being dropped. Olsen back where he knows best - warming the bench.

What’s surprised and impressed me most is how assured he looks .

Not having seen him play and going by the reviews he’s had on here , I was expecting him to be all twitchy and nervous a la Rammers when he first came into the team , but that’s not been the case apart from the one incident last night .

Add that to a couple of fine saves he’s already made and , fingers crossed , it looks like he might have the potential to be a very sound keeper for us .

Yes , he will drop the odd clanger and when he does , I hope that the hypercritical element of our fan base will not get on his back and that it goes with the territory . This season alone I’ve seen Pickford , de Gea , Pope and Schmeichel all drop almighty bollocks and they must surely be four of the best around .

The worst thing that can happen to a goalkeeper is that of having his confidence destroyed and I’ve got a feeling that if we give this guy a chance , we could all be in for a very pleasant surprise .

I remember a save from a header in the 2nd half where he was in the right position got full body behng the ball and held it taking the pressure off of defence.
The fucking idiot...

..... that's just not what goalkeeping is about.. he should have been stood at the other side of his goal, scrambled across to finger tip it on to the post and then run out to deflect the rebound for a corner with his face... followed by standing up and shouting at the defence like a toddler at his first disco.

That's why he's league 1 wes and not playing for arsenal

His body language and positioning just look better than Olsen. Just needs to practice his ground work passing back out when on the floor he always looks a bit jittery. Think give him a few games and he will get better, may drop the odd clanger but so did Henderson and Ramsdale and......

By far my favourite post of the week this.

The defence seem more confident with wes in goal for some reason, especially compared to Ramsdale at the start where it just seemed like they didn't trust him at all.

Can somebody remind me why we let Moore go?

Not a keeper to take us back to the PL

So he’ll just take Coventry back there instead.

IMHO, he was the keeper to take us back to the premier league, just not the keeper to play for us when we get there.

Olsen will struggle to take us to the premier inn

Could have had; Wez, Moore, Eastwood, but, you know, Blades mentality and that, hmmm.
