Despite of all the negativity on this thread today and this season on the whole, I still think and claim we will stay up this season. We will be a premier League team next season. 100% sure of it. You watch, Chris is about to pull off a masterclass of management and keep us up.

(I don't really think this will happen but if it does, I'll edit this bracketed bit out and bump this thread in the Summer if it happens because I'm a bigger cunt than thou).

It is by now of course a long shot.

However.

There are a selection of around 6-8 sides that are genuinely not very good at this level.

Somehow, we have to finish above 3 of them.

If Chris pulls this off then Carlsberg can forever do one as it’s Birra Moretti all the way 😀.

“genuinely not very good” v 1/33

Then we can be the Greyhound / Horse that breaks late.

I’m trying to be positive. It’s not easy atm but I do believe some of our key players have a gear or two extra to find and, if they do, we WILL do it.

From the abyss of despair, when you are down there deep enough, there is a calm tranquility from which positive reflection and forward momentum can be achieved. UTB

Please include me in your quote of this post when we finish 10th at the end of the season

Positive thinking good. remember 1990-91 season beat Forest middle of December for first win. last home game before Christmas.
had a great second half of the season. finished fifteenth in my memory serves me right.

Yeh but we had 4 points from draws by then ...

We finished 13th. However this season we could be in an even worse position. We need at least another 3 points from the next 5 to match played 16, points 4. We won games 17 and 18. Not sure we'll be on 10 points by game 18 this time around 😔

I don’t think you’ll be able to edit it by then. You could put some tippex over your screen though I suppose.

If 38 points keeps us up, then we need to get some momentum and points on the board before the New year to have a decent chance.

In December I am looking at Brighton and Burnley as potential wins (others may understandably disagree) and maybe a cheeky point against either Southampton, ManU or Everton.

So with a theoretical 8 points on the board, we would have 5 months to get 10 wins or 30 points any which way. It would be doable, especially as we would have to play most of the teams around the bottom half again, plus those that I personally felt got lucky against us, such as Villa and Leeds.

Add in a couple of new faces in January, and maybe an earlier return for JOC, then who knows.

It's hard to see a light at the end of the tunnel at the moment though. I feel for Chris, and for the Prince. I am sure neither saw this coming.

Take into consideration won,t be halfway through our fixture until the middle of January. so it might give us leeway a bit. also hopefully at least 2,000 fans could be able to attend by then. however, it going to have to be a good run of wins.on current form very hard to achieve.we will see.

We just have to get 12pts from our four remaining fixtures with the other three relegation contenders.

If we lose any I am afraid it will be very difficult to grab 4th from bottom.

I wonder if 30pts will be enough this season?

If we stay up im running up and down west street with a wendy shirt on my top half and fuck all on the bottom half
