We're lacking that little bit of flair

Yet again, we've dominated a game without actually creating that bit of flair to turn a game on its head. Snodgrass, albeit on about 60k a week has done just that.

Another point of note is that we're not beating the "current" teams around us. Lost at home now to Bristol c. Fulham and now Villa.

Usually a positive poster but ultimately this will be the difference between top 6 or not.

Our 'bit of flair was sat on the bench' ....could do with Brooks coming back quickly too

We shouldn’t be lining up with a defensive midfielder at home. Too negative when you’ve already got 5 at the back.

Albeit Evans was superb

Yes that is the problem. The goal was a Premier League Goal from a Premier League player and was the difference between the two sides.

We haven’t got the resources to bring that sort of player here which is why we have brought three players from League one in who may or may not be able to make the strep up.

Some big decisions for the owners to make in the summer if we want to be genuine challengers next season.

Agree with the flair bit. We don't seem to have the ability to cut through sides anymore, but is that down to teams setting up to stop us playing?

And to be fair, a top 6 finish for us would be amazing! If we finished 7th this season, I'd class that as quite a large success considering this would be our first full season back in the championship and the little bit of investment the 1st team has had.

I'm personally not overly upset by the fact that a side who've amassed a squad at cost of more than 10 times what ours has and who are on premier league wages, managed to squeak past a side who were in the pub league just 8 months ago with a 90th minute winner.

I think we have flair in individuals but our general play has become a bit safe. More hoof than I would like and we've almost forgotten to attack centrally. Brooks and Duffy needed asap.

Spot on.

One day, one of our lads may cut in and have a crack on goal.

At least our attacks in little triangles on the corner of their box is still catching them by surprise.

we can’t hoof it when billy plays.. it’s psychological

Completely agree with the overall point, missing that one player that can just take the game by the scruff of its neck when we are struggling.

My God though - should we even bother taking corners anymore, I think we'd have more chance getting a goal from a goalkick

Against the current top 10 we have won 3 games and Lost 6.

That's what will ultimately hurt us at the end.

We've beaten Derby, Leeds and Wolves.

Lost to Bristol C. Villa. Fulham. Boro. Cardiff and Preston.

The games that didn't end in a victory either way were Derby (a) and Villa (a), the rest of which are still to come. That's worrying

Why mention the 60k? Is that your excuse for getting beat? We are in the championship now. Bout time we all grew a pair and realised we're not in league 1 anymore

mattbianco1 good post. Exactly my thoughts. I think Brooks is going to walk back into this side and play alongside Leon or Wilson.

Dont ask me why but I think Brooks and Wilson could form a very good partnership. Some “flair” between both of them young uns.

I Feel that Brooks sitting behind a striker (like Bouncing Day) may be better for us in the final 3rd.

From what I've seen of Wilson so far, and from his time at Derby, I don't think he is going to be the answer.

We do however miss Brooks and Duffy both being on the pitch at the same time. Both should be automatic starters when fit.

IMO Wilson had good moments today, abit to much time throwing his arms about and moaning to the ref for my liking BUT overall I think he has something to offer.

JOC should have scored from a corner, and I think Evans delivery from corners were very good.

I will also add another big decision to make will be holding on to John Fleck, he looks absolute quality at this level and I am sure he will attract interest in the summer as well.
