Fully agree Beighton, looks like the club have had a good look at what happened last season and are acting on it to minimise the disaster that we had last year.

Too right, we've sold some more players, still can't fill the bench and are selling a young striker to one of our rivals.
It's been a brilliantly executed close season.

Oh I'm sorry Lenners, I didn't realise that the transfer window had now closed... My Apologies.

Let me retract my earlier statement, would this do as a replacement:

"What a load of shite, we've got rid of the dross and started to rebuild by replacing them with experience and the type of player that prefers to put the ball on the deck and play. Incidentally, we're rumoured to be selling Billy to Donny in order to fund other signings to strengthen the team. I mean whats the world coming to, as much as i'd like Billy to turn the corner at United, he clearly doesn't fit Blackwells plans and hasn't scored a hatful for us... All the same, what a joke, we're regressing so fast that we'll be lucky to be in business by the start of the season"

Hope that fits better.

It's a good job there is still a month til the new season starts then, in all seriousness, the transfer window didn't actually open until 1st July, today is the 5th, chill out man!

Still not depressing enough SB..

Just had a message from Seth Bennett saying "deal done" whatever that means.

I did hear something about an illegal consignment of East European donuts arriving in the country. Fake Krispy Kream stuff, maybe Seth's got himself a little bit of that action!

Exactly, still time to put a bid in for Tommy Smith.

Out of the players we,ve sold/ selling how many played last season? My concern is what we are bringing in are they quality or just filling gaps? we need at least 6 or 7 more players to stop us having to go into the loan market.

We need 1st teamers and we need back-up. Of the signings so far, Simmo and Leon will walk into the 1st team, Ertl and Boggy will probably start on the bench, subject to other defenders coming in.

I reckon KB probably has 8 of his 1st team sorted, still concerned about full-backs and a CB, which is why Billy out, Dickinson and Nyron/De Merit in, isn't probably far off the mark.

We will definitely be going into the loan market, certainly for players like Nos, just not being as reliant on it as last season. We simply cannot afford his 23K a week wages, hell we can't even fit him into our new wage structure if he takes a 50% pay cut.

You want quality we have signed Britton and Simmo plus there is the likes of Dickinson coming up to Shirecliffe this week. If Dickinson joins Britton and Simmo I think we will have done well, and not a penny spent on transfer fees yet.

I would have concerns about a DeMerit/Morgan partnership as it simply has no pace in it at all. But apparently the Belgian lad was doing ok, and I think Bartley would be great in a settle back four, which he never had last season.

I tend to agree with you Windy Robert. I think we've done pretty well with the 'reprofiling'. Another three first teamers (who we know we're looking at) and the same for squad players, and we will be fine. I'm OK with DeMerit and Morgs as I think they have the experience not to need the pace.

Time will tell...

Nos and bartley i wouldn't have a problem with as they have been here before, Its when we have to call in players like davies on the day of the game.

We need a settled team by the middle of this month and i hope any season long loans aren't walker style deals

I said last season give Blackwell a level playing field and then judge him.

Level playing field = Settled side.

The future's bright, it's red & white.

Whilst I wouldn't have lost any sleep if KB had been replaced this Summer I tend to agree. We know he can get results in this division with a settled team and if he does try and play football in the process (and I appreciate this is a bigger leap of faith than jumping the grand canyon) then all well and good.

Blackwell made the decision to go with high paid loanee's and a smaller squad. While the injuries may of been unfortunate it was the gamble he made, and he has to take responsibility for what happens on the playing side. No matter how hard he tries to shirk it.
