We're gonna finish 6th.

You just know people are going to fall into the trap and actually accept it because we've had a good run of 3/4 games. Don't do it, people!
Oh, certainly. Said the same the other week. It's not predictable at all.

Just beat the Dingles then take it from there. I don't think I'll be able to stand listening to them spaff on about "finishing our season".

I think Neil might have got them "motivated" a bit before 8 games from the end.

Adkins is as culpable as the players I am afraid. After all he is the manager isn't he? About time he put the boot in imo.

He's tried virtually everything under the sun this season to get this team to click whilst getting rid of as much deadwood as possible. Formations, lineups, signings etc. The same players with lethargic performances for most of the season are suddenly chasing balls down in the 90th minute whilst we're winning comfortably. What can a manager to do to spark this 39 games into a season?

Agree entirely with your point about the manager, for 39 games this season we've been all over the place in respect of selections, tactics, formations, 4-4-2, 4-1-4-1, 3-5-2 etc etc.

Why it's taken this length of time to sort things out & find some degree of winning consistency is puzzling - as you say a certain person with the initials NW would have had it sorted yonks back.

Anything higher than 8th for me this season is a bonus, I question why its taken us to fall so far behind the Play offs to start "performing". It just goes to show we don't have the bad bunch of players that people seem to slate so much after all.

Er ....... yes we do have a crock of shit.

The players have consistently evidenced over the last few seasons that they are not capable of consistently competing at this level .......

Don't be fooled Nigel, or deflected from your next task in the summer which is CULLING our underperforming senior squad !!!

We. Could. Still. Do. This.!!! Dream's still alive. Wisdom of geese, Sun Tzu, Martyn Woolford & all.

Indeed - all about small margins. A few would have put their house on Billy lobbing the keeper and scoring.

Beat the dingles, let the rest do what they want - and there are so many permutations it isn't worth think about.

All we can do is WIN 3 games of football and see where that takes us.

My opinion, is IF we do get 9 points we will make it - and not necessarily in 6th either - now there's optimism for you :)

We've always been shit at finishing seasons.

Even when we got promoted in 2005-06 we only won 1 of our last 3 matches and we have ALWAYS limped into the play offs.

I'd bet it's been at least 25 years since we last won our last 3 matches of the season.

Agree and I think we will, no problem, momentum is a wonderful thing when ordinary players are heroes. Then we are the form team in the Play-Offs and we get a Premier League referee in the Final and what do you know, a stitch-up organised by Scudamore again.

Me, bitter, ??

1992-93 in the Premier League (the year when Deano scored the first ever Premier League goal). We finally finished 14th but the last three games were Forest away, 2-0 (Brian Clough's last-ever game and we took 5k to the City Ground on Bank Holiday Monday), Everton away (2-0) and Chelsea at home for the final game 4-2.

It can be done! :)

bradford losing to walsall on saturday would be of great help
and burton beating gillingham on the final day would be nice
add a few draws as we keep winning and its happy days
port vale screwing over rochdale would be superb

if scunny keep winning come final day we will need to cut them down
be a football quirk adkins old team being the final barrier

I bet it's been even longer since we won our last 5 matches of the season.

Well, it was a lovely pint in the "Broadfield" last night.

I always take one game at a time but as others do I have looked at the other games of teams around us.

Now it's all speculation, but many thought Bradford would easily finish in the top 6 - well, go and have a look - they might just finish on 74 points by only winning one remaining game (btw they play Walsall at home this Saturday) and as long as we win our 3 remaining games, which is really quite feasible, we WOULD finish above Bradford on goal difference - it really is that simple.

All ready making plans for Coventry - just got to beat those tw@ts from S7? postcodes on Saturday.
