Last season about this time, we were starting to fly, and CW coined a very descriptive phrase that we were 'At it' !
We all knew what he meant, we worked incredibly hard from the first whistle, harrying, chasing, closing down etc, and almost took teams by complete surprise with our intensity.
Not surprisingly, although disappointingly, and for whatever reason, this faded as the season went on.
Six games in and we seem to be 'At it' again, and I realise how much I've missed it.
My question is whether this is the whole story, or is there some other major factor, such as Oliver Norwood that has made the difference ?
Whatever made it disappear, and then come back, it's fantastic and I can't wait for the next game, which is like football Nirvana to an old guy, I have to tell you.
Bring it on, and stay AT IT !

Let's be far more optimistic - why not the play-offs at least? We have some good to great players, and now we have decent cover in most positions. Of course we're short of a couple of really threatening forwards, but that takes opportunity, money, and ambition on the side of both parties, club as well as player.

Oh come one IIYB, haven’t you being paying attention to TPL ? They’re average at best !

2nd. Just like TC said last year.

No reason we can’t stick it to all these clubs.

We’re playing against ourselves here - if we can replicate the level of the first half vs Villa then we’ll put away all comers.

After a very substantial number of games last year we were top. But for the injury to Coutts nothing suggested that was a fluke.

This time we have depth there.

We’re also spreading the goals. A criticism of last season.

We’re also a threat from set-pieces with Norwood’s delivery. A criticism of last season.

We had 2, maybe 2.5 quality Championship strikers last year. This year we have 4.

We missed Freeman’s output at RWB. He’s now fit.

We’re also thumping teams convincingly. Something we didn’t do so much last season.

A lot going for this team, this season.

You mean the Ian Paisley of South Yorkshire football?

Never has been an objective commentator, so I leave his stupidity to one side and allow him to follow his beloved blue and white footballers.

Times like this we need a 'Love it' button. 'Like' just doesn't cut it sometimes !

I like us being “at it” maybe in the new Star Wars Wilder could star and pilot an “AT-IT”.

We are AT IT - the point that is missed by most - is when we stop being AT IT.

Last season it was 23/02/2018, away at Hull when CW said we had hit the wall.

So, how long will we be AT IT this season?

We will be AT IT longer if we manage the squad properly - and we will, because it is bigger and better and the management have learnt a lot from last season.

So, will we be AT IT while MAY 2019? Let's all hope so.

UTB

I honestly think the playmaker role that Norwood and previously Coutts play in our team is critical to the team performing well. They are like the conductors of the orchestra.

I put a lot of last season tailing off down to Coutts' bad injury but luckily for us we are now blessed to have two top players to fill that role.

I think the squad is stronger but is too old to last the season in the top 2. Could maybe sneek into the playoffs which would still be a great achievement. I still feel will will finish 8th to 10th.

I thought this was more kidney punches, mugging old women and pushing over disabled kids in wheelchairs.

I was rather hoping for some more made up stories aswel. I was hoping we had strobed the epileptic section of the villa fans or stolen someone's insulin or something.

I will settle for this little gem tho! Get AT IT lads, and long may it continue.

Very much so .

After the stunningly lacklustre performances against Swansea and Boro , I was beginning to wonder whether we would ever recapture the dynamism we showed in the early part of last season .

Enter Messrs. Duffy , Sharp and Norwood and ' Hey Presto ' we've got our mojo working .

This , coupled with the fact that we now have our strongest squad under CW makes me VERY optimistic about this year .

Outrageous Statement Follows:
Had we not lost Coutts we would have been "At it" throughout the season, and would have guaranteed top 6 and maybe Premier League this season.
Having signed Norwood we're "At it" again for OBVIOUS reasons.
Having also signed the big Mac GOLD Rick, Egan & Co, and now Freeman is back with Coutts on his way back also, we can look forward to top 6 guaranteed, with a shot at Auto to boot.
Cogs, Wheels and well-oiled Clockwork and all that y'know.............

Well Chris is very confident of a top 6 finish (in private), and say it quietly but if we can demolish a side like Villa like we did then there’s no reason we couldn’t push for the autos (Thiugh we need to be injury free as we saw first hand what can happen)

To paraphrase Richard Todd from "The Longest Day" on the Orne Canal bridge just after midnight 5th-6th of June D-Day..."UP AND AT IT LADS....UP AND AT IT...", btw he did actually take part in that...as part of the following on drop of paratroopers..
It was actually "UP AND AT EM"...but...

I think Freeman plays a bigger part in our success than most people give him credit for.

Totally agree, he’s a new weapon we didn’t have before.

I rate Baldock but he like Stevens he puts in crosses with height and they often don’t beat the first man and get put out for a corner.
However I’ve noticed Freeman tends to cross earlier and he blasts his crosses hard and low into the box.

Sharp in particalarly is thriving from the precision service.
BS isnt the tallest so doesn’t t benefit from crosses to his head. Sharp prefers them hard and low to edge of the six yard box.
