Well, that was a bit embarrassing

Seems like a pig to me.....embarrasing against a team assembled for multi-millions? Fuck off!

Didn't watch the game but you cant be ashamed of the team with us being newly promoted, we are still finding our feet and our confidence.

Wednesday got beat there 3-0 in January against 10 men .That's embarrassing .since then they've spent more money to get back 10 times more than we can afford; how was it embarrassing for us considering we were duped out of a point by a clearly wrong decision

I'm not saying it was like the last 6 years, I am saying that all the great stuff we normally do was missing today. All the hype and going for the record successive win, and measuirng ourselves against the best this division has to offer to see how we might compete.
The truth is we didn't. We didn't even really huff and puff that much either. I, for one, won't be going round to my Wednesdayite neighbour and saying something like, "see, told you we play some great stuff" Truth is, we were lack lustre and made far too many simple mistakes which for me, with the world watching to see our 100 point champions, was a little bit embarrassing.

Yes, Boro were a decent, organised side without being anything special going forward, but man that was frustrating.
Pedestrian, predictable and in the main and a far cry from the type of stuff we're used to.
Whether we showed them too much respect or just lacked self belief, I really don't know, but something went badly wrong today.
Rushed passes, slow, lethargic movement, panicky play, heading when having time to bring it under control, waiting for a man to be closed down before attempting to pass to him, kicking it out when there's time to put a foot on it, all things that happened toneet.
Still love dem Blades though.
Still trust CW though.
Still above W*********y though.
Come on you red and white wizaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrds!!

Get a grip.

Generally playing good opposition is harder than playing poor opposition.

What the hell did you expect?

No mate, the most embarrassing thing of all was the blatant fucking dive to get the free kick. Yes the offside call by the Lino was badly wrong but fucking hell, are you telling me everyone on here cunting the linesman off for cheating is in favour of swan dives by players? If that had been a boro player there'd have been all fucking hell break loose on here tonight.
Just watched that back and to be fair we shouldn't have had the free kick but regardless of the sky split screen proving it was right (not seen that) from what I've seen it should have been a goal. Even if split second tv can somehow prove the Lino was right, there is no way a human being in the heat of the moment can make a call that results in him raising his flag. We should have had a point.

Soft goal to concede too so really either way we should have had a point.

I'm not worried or embarrassed. Boro are on a different planet to us financially and no cries for owners to get their wallets out can get anywhere near a year in the prem plus the enormous parachute payments. Folk should realise that, accept it and chill the fuck out.

FFS,
I'M NOT EMBARRASSED TO BE A BLADE.
I'M NOT AN OWL.
WE DID WELL TO ONLY LOSE ONE NIL AT THE FAVOURITES TO GO UP.
BUT AT TIMES TODAY, IT WAS A LITTLE BIT EMBARRASSING TO HAVE BIGGED US UP TO MY WEDNESDAYITE NEIGHBOUR ONLY TO SEE US PLAY LIKE WE DID, DOING THE BASICS POORLY AND HARDLY TROUBLING THEM UNTIL THE LAST FEW MINUTES. THAT'S ALL I WAS SAYING!!!!!

Just like to chuck in this repeated point from last season.
I and plenty of others suggested we lacked pace when attacking and whilst it was better than previous dire seasons of pedestrian attacking verve it was still lacking.
Well. It still was a tad last season despite our wonderful outcome. It is even more apparent already this season.
Samir is clearly Duffys pacier replacement, but we lack it right up top.
Sorry to say this, but it's true, and Wilder obviously knows it.
Pace. And then more. Required.

caps lock whore

There is a definite rustiness about the "creatives" in the team and I think its just a case of adjusting to the League, the number of misplaced passes and heavy touches is far to high, BUT this will correct itself as they settle into this league Carruthers, Fleck, Duffy and Coutts all guilty of being wasteful with that ball over the first two games but they will come good.

I'd say what an embarrassing OP. We started well, lost our way a bit, gave away a poor goal. A lot seem to be saying Boro played amazingly, they had one tactic to slot balls behind our defence. More accurately they plundered long balls into our defence, looking for knock ons with 3 up front. We capitulated once only. Became nervous, but hung in there. I was so relieved for half time whistle. 2nd half, thank God we kept it down and played football. Yes we're weaker than them overall, but we still didn't give in, still performed second half, deserved the the draw we were robbed of. Embarrassing, no way! Embarrassing to have a multi million pound team that ran out of steam to hang on against us in dubious circumstances? I think so. Last year we would have have been in doom and gloom now. Cardiff will not realise what is going to hit'em now. We'll carry the injustice of today to them. Dodgy 1-0 away to season's biggest spending favourites? No way!

Indeed. And the rest of us are all laughing at you.

Embarrassing ??? ... fuck me some ppl have been sharpening their knives waiting for our first defeat in ??? Many games .. get a fuckin grip on reality we.havent got their finances .. queue threads of Mc C & the Arab should be spending £43M to have a go at promotion..look back to 12 months ago .. we ain't doin too bad are we from then til now .. get behind your club FFS ...

with all respect, either your expectations are ridiculous or your talking out of your arse, I mentioned the main match thread the gulf between us & them & i was realistic to know for me was a bonus game. this & derby were the games that terrified me in august when the fixtures came out. as we are playing a newly relegated title favs away in our 2nd game back. the facts show we in different financial league to Middlesbrough
  • they spent 43m compared our 1.5/2m
  • they spent 25m to get promotion 45m in the PL & then 43m this season after relegation
  • 15m for assombalonga. utd 2010 - 2017 transfer fees 7m
  • had such depth they brought a 7m striker off the bench & they have got last seasons 1st choice gk at West ham in net, only dropped because Hart went to west ham
I think in hindsight this has just given me confidence that we can get 3 pts at Cardiff, because we will learnt so much from today you could see that knowledge in the 2nd half, we were much better as admitally we were getting battered by gestede, 1st half at this point of the season is probally more important than points

EMBARRASSING.

To be honest I'm really really proud of the lads!!
Worked our arses off against a £43m team and got robbed of a point.
Absolutely spot on. That 2nd half performance was fantastic, it might not have been fast flowing Brazilian football, but not one person watching that game could fault the lads for effort. Absolutely gutted with the result, but I can accept defeat in any game when the work rate and effort is to that level. They will be up there at the end of the season, have spent an absolute fortune and we ran them all the way... we are certainly lacking a little bit of pace in the last third, but our sheer drive and effort will see us through this season, because I genuinely believe we will want it more than the opposition in every game, personally that's all I ever ask for. Stick by the boys they're doing us proud and are busting a bollock for the badge. UTB

Well you shouldn't have embarrassed yourself by bigging us up in the first place should you.

All self inflicted damage.

What we need to do is work on our play when we don't have the ball. How do we stop quality opposition playing their game?

We haven't had to worry about that for the best part of 12 months, but we are going to have to start thinking about it. A holding player with Championship experience, a Stuart Mcall type figure, would be invaluable.

First half we had no confidence on the ball and our defenders often took the easiest option of pumping it forward. That's not our strength. The goal was annoying, two individual mistakes. Blackman showed his experience. For me with more in net we don't concede that.

Should have been 2-0 up after 15 minutes? Blaming Blackman for Basham's Sunday morning u8 defending? Really? That's like blaming the manufacturers of the car that killed the people in Charlottesville, rather than the twat driving the car.
