OK so I was very upset last night when I heard we were getting super Danny Wilson to manage our beloved team and I maybe ranted at the computer more than I should have done.
Firstly for me was the fact that Wilson doesn't seem to have done a great deal since his Barnsley days. To be fair that Barsley team was a cracking one and I will never forget the day they beat us at the lane in their promotion season
Secondly the realisation that we weren't going to get a "big name" manager with a "guarantee" of promotion at the helm deflated me somewhat.
The fact the guy had managed and played for Wednesday made no bearing on his employment, in my opinion he is a professional and previous allegencies do not come into football when you take a job on.
Having heard his interview today I thought well (or should I say hey) let's give the guy a chance.
Obviously he is going to have to sell most of the team and to be fair there aren't that many I would keep myself. No doubt we will see a few of the young lads come through, motivated by Pemberton and no doubt with a directive to "play football" maybe they will do ok for us. I also feel having the new "coach" chasing them up and down should ensure they know what's expected of them.
From feeling devastated last night to hearing Wilson speak today and seeing Morgan there I sort of felt reassured that we are definately at last going to see some football at BDTBL.
Should we have kept Adams ? Who knows ,would he have continued where he left off, losing to many games. At least with Wilson we can no longer say being a blade is a resume for the job
So Danny managing the blades is going to be the toughest job you have ever undertaken,a heartfelt goodluck from me ......... now go and wipe the smug smiles from the faces of those in S6 who once adored you.
