that this team can really challenge for promotion this year....we are a lot stronger than last year in terms of depth....we have, in my opinion (with coutts back)....the best midfield in the division...look really settled and strong at the back and our Billy and McGoldrick are doing the business up front.....if we buy another quality forward in January to compliment what we already have.....then god help the rest!!!!.....really happy tonight....perfect away performance!!

Why would CW even consider Villa?

11 games in mate. Far too early.
Enjoy it mate while we are playing like we are , cus believe me it doesn't happen that often , were so lucky to have Chrissy in charge , it wasn't long ago when we were going through a little bit of a bad patch , and I was realty worried that Chris was getting pissed off and rumours were circulating about him leaving , thank god he didn't .

last year are 1st eleven and momentum got us to the top, then Coutts injury added to the much missed Freeman undid us. Then in Jan the board started fighting and we had to scrape the barrel to stabilise our position instead of pushing on.

This year we have Freeman back, two Coutts and Goldie making us a better attacking option. Defensively we have strengthened so hopefully we can go that extra mile, though it is still early, with some tricky hurdles to trip us up like the derby, so we will have a poor patch, we just need to continue our support and hope the owners sort their shit out and give Wilder, enough to add a couple of quality signings, a striker and whoever we need to replace due to injuries.

So McCabe and the Prince don't screw it up again.

Said after the Villa game that we were a genuine contender for autos, not just the play offs. Seen nothing to change my view since, despite those odd moments where we have switched off and conceded goals. The results are still coming.

We won't need to spend much in January either.

True, we can be very proud of the team and how we have conducted ourselves for the opening part of the season but we were in a very similar position this time last year. Consistency is key - we don't have to win every game, the league is about grinding out results but the promising thing from tonight is that we played our usual attacking style but remained solid at the same time.

Very good win, we look a well balanced team with many strengths & no obvious weaknesses. In terms of fluidity & keeping the ball we look a class above most teams in this division, sure there will be lapses of concentration & dips in form over the season but we look much better equipped to keep our standards right up until the end of the season.

I still think from the start of the season that we are capable of a play off challenge. Its still mighty tough. But Huddersfield managed it as huge underdogs

Agree we do look a class above the opposition and just like in league 1 it’s becoming a regular occurance.

The thing that makes me laugh is that opposition teams always seem to have their worse performance of the season against us.
Blackburn are normally a good team but tonight they were shockingly poor and seemed demoralised.

Something that I'd noticed too.

All true - but we have a much stronger SQUAD than we had at any time last season.

We need to spend £7m on Waghorn ;)
