There apparently should to be an announcement today...

If not however, Kevin McCabe is on Radio Sheffield tonight at 6pm.

Radio Sheffield are suggesting the mornings papers are wrong and that it looks like Mr Robson will be relieved of his first team duties but retain a position somewhere within the PLC.

The star is saying that united are planning to unveil a major overhaul of the footballing infrastructure tomorrow.

BRYAN Robson could be moved upstairs as Sheffield United plan to unveil a major overhaul of their "footballing infrastructure" tomorrow.

Speculation is rife that, despite the players' committed performance at The Hawthorns, Robson could still be 'moved upstairs' to make room for further additions to the coaching staff.

United have refused to comment on those suggestions but if they turn out to be correct then, given McCabe's continued respect for Robson, it is unlikely they will look to sever their ties with the former England captain completely.

BBC understands Robson relieved of first team duties

The question on many Sheffield United fans lips this morning is what is going to happen to manager Bryan Robson following his trip to Belgium to see the Chairman?.

Our sport journalist Seth Bennett told us this:

"BBC Radio Sheffield understands Sheffield United will make clear their plans for a massive restructure of the football club later on today. This comes after a meeting between plc chairman Kevin McCabe, football club Chairman Terry Robinson, and current manager Bryan Robson in Brussels yesterday.

"We understand that as a result of this Robson will be relieved of the first team duties with immediate effect. McCabe is expected to reveal a number of other changes to the coaching and management roles in order to improve the Blades' performances, after a disappointing campaign that see's them unlikely to challenge for a play-off place.

"There has not yet been a clue as to what many of the other changes will be, however it's thought they will be wide ranging enough to encapsulate the clubs moves into Brazil, China, Belgium and Hungary."

Chairman Kevin McCabe has promised Radio Sheffield an exclusive interview to discuss the current situation at Bramall Lane. You can listen to Football Heaven live from 1800 GMT. Tune in, or click on the 'listen live' button on the right of this page.

Just a reminder people.. 6PM unless mr McCabe is otherwise busy.

Robson will be taking tomorrows press call as normal however.

UPDATE:

McCabe may not be on Radio Sheffield, given that todays happenings have taken longer than expected.
