I'm not sure if Chris has done its to rest players or confuse Bruce but both Billy and McBurnie have a chance tonight to stake a claim for the shirt. Interesting.

Poor decision.

Only 38 league games to play.

First time we have 3 games in a week and with Mousset on fire and McGoldrick creating was an ideal chance to take the three.

Every time Chris tried to be a bug too clever rotating, it usually fucks up.

Billy was a bit of a passenger and McBurnie will learn that at this level you need to be clinical. They were we weren't. Huffed and puffed buti never felt we'd score. By the time the right players were on the game was up.

Was quite impressed with McBurnie tonight. Thought he should have scored in the first half, but it was an excellent save. Billy was Billy - put himself about a lot, linked up the play, but is definately 4th choice now. Was surprised to see him start, but if Mousset tears Norwich a new one on Sunday I don't suppose anyone will mind too much.

McBurnie decent first half but pretty wank second half. He gets bullied far too easily for a player of his stature.

As much as I didn't like Madine he would not have been bullied off the ball like that.

Poor decision by CW tonight. Drop The moose I'm OK with because they defend so deep. Crying out for Didzy to open em up

McBurnie our best attacker tonight.

Definitely has clear issues, easy to knock off the ball, but in a game where 4 strikers played, he was the only one that looked remotely dangerous.

Unless I blacked out and missed a chance other than Didzy trying to clear the Kop.

Both did OK first half.

Not so much in the 2nd.

Our shape, and an inability to break down a well drilled bank of 5:4:1 was the biggest stand out point today.

The front lads take less of the blame for this than others.

Begrudgingly, you have to say Bruce did his homework on us and on the night it worked.

Night to forget. On to Sunday.

He was the only one that missed a sitter more like.

It wasn't a sitter, he was in a mid air challenge with an opponent and still had the keeper to beat. He also got another decent header on target, to the top corner, forcing another great save.

Is McGoldrick wank too? Because if we are talking about missing sitters, then....

First half he should have scored 100% free header and too close to keeper, 2nd half he vanished. I expect more for £20m.

Well you shouldn't.

£20m is fuck all in the Premier League unfortunately.

I specified 1st half.

I have made the point on other threads that folk are paying far too much attention to the £17m we paid for him. He is a young British striker, with a great scoring record in the Champ and PL/international experience. It really wasn't an outrageous amount of money for that kind of profile.

Focus instead on the net spend of him and Mousset. £29m for the pair. I would argue that Mousset isn't far off justifying that whole fee at the moment. The question should be, have we improved our forward line?

Sometimes you pay big and don't quite get what you expected, sometimes you get an absolute steal.
